The sweet bit, can be taken care of if you add a little more water (or milk) than they suggest.
Nathan Andersen
It's too sweet for my taste, even though I was pleasantly surprised by the peppery-ness that makes this taste like a "real chai tea."
Julie H. Rose
I loved how easy it was to make this - dump a packet of powder into a cup, add hot water, and presto!

I found this chai in a grocery store shelf and I thought I'd give it a try after numerous attempts of getting a good instant chai mix. I must admit that I did not have much hope when I whisked it off the shelf. Once I got home and made my first cup of chai, I was amazed at the quality. It's as good as making masala chai at home (not Starbucks or some fancy coffee shop claiming that they make home made chai). I've tried having chai at numerous places and I gave up and got hooked to coffee (yeah that's how I started drinking coffee!).

The next time we went to the store, I just cleaned up the shelves! Now, it's become a regular part of my morning and afternoon routine to drink chai. It's pretty simple, just mix it with hot water and maybe with a little bit of creamer to get a tasty cup of chai! I am glad that I found this. Coffee sales have taken a hit! With Amazon carrying these, it's pretty simple - order in bulk. Oh, btw my family members and relatives are hooked on to this as well and some friends too!

Overall - Quick and easy, excellent tasting, less frills.

4/17/2014 - Update (Product Review)

When I started buying this product on Amazon, I paid $3.99 per pack (10 count) or around $16 for a 4 pack. Now the price has gone up almost 70-80%, which in my mind is a bit too much. The local stores still sells them for $3.99 a pack. So guess what, I stopped buying them here at Amazon as the price was jacked up.

As for the quality of the chai, it is not the same as when I started buying them a year or two ago. The current chai leaves residues and do not mix well (clumps at the bottom of the cup). The quality has dipped and some packs leaves weird taste in your mouth. At some point I was planning to quit drinking this chai.

The first time tasted Chai tea was at Starbucks and I was hooked. Since then I've kind of lost my desire for Starbucks Tazo Chai Tea lattes mainly because of the caloric value (210+ calories for a 16oz). I've tried all different kinds of Chai teas but it wasn't until I found this one that I found something I really liked. I've been drinking Nature's Guru Masala Spice Chai for over a year now. When Amazon has it in stock with Prime shipping it's the best deal going. Without Prime it's same price as I can buy it for locally. Now, about the Chai. Taste is a personal thing, but I like the following Chai's: Big Train, Pacific, Tazo. So, if you like any of those you will probably like this one too. The big benefit for me is that there are very few calories in each pack. Here's the Nutrition Facts (per packet): Calories: 40, Fat: 0, Cholesterol: 0, Sodium: 10mg, Total Carbs: 8g, Protein: 2g. The box states that each pack should be added to 6-8oz of water. I normally use one pack per 14-16oz of water and I think it's fine. I generally add two Splenda packets as well. With Prime shipping it works out to less than 50 cents per serving. That's a deal and I can sweeten it myself. Lastly, it is very portable. The foil packets are very durable so it's easy to have a pack with you and get hot water somewhere along the way. One last note: I've also tried the Unsweetened version and surprisingly there is no difference in the nutritional content so you're not really saving anything going that route.

My husband brought some of this home from a trip for me. I'd never heard of this brand so was a little hesitant to try it, but with the low calories and all-natural claims I gave it a try. WOW! This is simply wonderful. I've hoarded my one little box, but was glad to find it on Amazon and will be purchasing more when I run out. Much better than Big Train or Oregon Chai.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I was first exposed to Chai in SE Asia, and was excited to see its popularity grow in the US. However, I have been disappointed in many of the "ready to consume" types such as Oregon Chai, Tazo, or the General Foods flavors.

The flavor of this one is more authentic, and it definitely has some kick via peppercorns. It also has a strong clove taste, and a nice cardamom finish, which I like, but may not fit everyone's palate. It is a little on the sweeter side, and while the directions recommend mixing with 6-8 oz of water, that would be too sweet. The powder is in little foil packets which make it handy for travel, but the downside is that you can't easily customize the strength in each cup unless you want it to be less intense.

I'll definitely be buying this one for me.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I never prepare Chai with water. That is like taking a hot shower while wearing a rain coat. The experience is greatly diminished. I always prepare Chai with low-fat milk. During the warm summer months, I prepare it in my Oster blender (Oster 6878-042 Core 16-Speed Blender with Glass Jar, Black). Last Friday, I crushed one cup of ice (approximately six ice cubes), added one cup of low-fat milk and one pack of the Masala Spice Chai. I pushed Frappe and let it blend for a few seconds. I poured the drink into two cold, frosted glasses that I grabbed from the freezer. My girlfriend, Tammy, and I thought it was awesome! This Masala Spice Chai is spicier than the Enchanted Spiced Chai [Enchanted Chai Spiced, 16-Ounce Canister (Pack of 6)] that I normally buy. Tammy and I both noticed the spices hit the back of our throats, causing a slight tingling sensation.

This morning I was in a rush to get to work but I had a craving to make the Masala Spice Chai with hot low-fat milk. I took a medium-sized sauce pan and added one cup of low-fat milk. I heated it on high, stirring it constantly, until it barely began to boil. Then I poured it into my Copco travel mug (Copco 2510-9963 Acadia Reusable To-Go Mug, 16-Ounce Capacity, Brown), added a packet of Masala Spice Chai, stirred it vigorously with a spoon and carried it to my car. I sipped this hot, spicy beverage while driving to work. It was tasty and relaxing.
