5.0 out of 5 stars Instant amusement
My green cheek conure has played with her former toys a bit, but the moment this went in she attacked it with a vengeance! She's been tearing at it all morning and is gleefully turning her cage into a mess, but by far it's been her favorite toy of all. It's a bit big for her, but she doesn't seem to mind as long as she's able to tear into the straw parts. If you own a...

Not a bad toy, but definitely something for a small parrot. Not suitable for medium or large birds given its small size and short longevity.

My picky pionus ignored at first, but now this is almost bare except for wood blocks. Would recommend.

My feathered friend is a 30-year-old DYH amazon. He's pretty open to new things, but has a somewhat short attention span. He'll go from one toy to another throughout the day, rarely demolishing any one thing in one go, and then later return to the toys he abandoned to play with them some more. If he was a bird who fixated on maximum destruction (as so many do) this wouldn't last 3 hours for him. But he enjoys variety and isn't quite as energetic/focused as a younger bird. This makes a nice addition to his play setup as one of *many* toys, and in that capacity in lasts him several weeks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bitey tear up good time fun, August 5, 2011

Purchased this one for my Quaker and Blue crowned conure, whom we adopted together in a cage (and are best buds.) Unfortunately, as is the nature of birds, there's no real guarantee that whatever toy you buy, despite how much other birds like it--they'll end up liking it. My Quaker and Conure ignore this toy, and I believe it's simply because I haven't played with it enough to incite their own interest, or they're afraid of it/simply not interested. It's a big toy, one that I think medium to larger parrots would enjoy. It came exactly as pictured here and in fantastic condition. The wood blocks appear to be colored with food coloring/dyes and not painted. Despite the fact my parrots are choosey, I still think this would be a great toy for a bird that loves to chew and tear things up!

its more for a parakeet, not a parrot, when i got it, i thought there goes 10 bucks and thats what it was my m2 destroyed it in less than 10 minutes, if you have a cockatoo or i would even say any type of parrot avoid this toy, its a 5 minute snack
