5.0 out of 5 stars My conure loves this
My conure absolutely adores this, even when it's empty. She swings and climbs on it everyday.

2.0 out of 5 stars not that fun
My African gray didn't enjoy this one that much as it slides open too easily and the seeds spill because it points at an angle downwards.

My Yellow Naped Amazon digs this foraging toy well enough. It didn't take her too long to open it. I'm pretty sure that she thinks that if she can close it up again, then open it, more treats will come out, lol.

Good, sturdy little foraging device. My sun conure figured it out and although now he's very quick at it, its something for him to do when he doesn't have his favorite toy (ME!) to play with. I put a peanut in it. I haven't found another one that he can do. The other device I bought is really too large and heavy for him (or else he just hasn't got that one yet)

It's good for smaller conures all the way up to large cockatoos so far. They love it!

I have a 17 yo African Grey Congo. He figured this out in 3 seconds. As long as you put something sticky in it such as peanut butter or a banana it is good for a few minutes of fun but he never plays with it otherwise. And yes a snack or piece of fruit would fall right out when tray is opened. Not worth the price for very little if any interaction time.

I bought this for my umbrella cockatoo. I had it all the way shut and figured I'd leave it that way for a couple of days and then see if she could figure it out, or if I needed to have it partially untwisted. She left it alone for about a day but figure it out right away. once she had, it became pointless. So yes, it gave her something to do, but its not a toy for long term entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars great little toy, August 27, 2011
This review is from: Nature's Instinct Foragewise Barrel of Fun for Conures, Amazons, Macaws and Similar Birds (Misc.)
My white cap pionus loves this little toy. She used to close it after she opened and look for more treats but she must have figured out i put them in the toy. Now she stares at me and bangs the toy against the cage if i dont put anything in it. It's pretty easy to open not a challenge at all, takes her all of 2 seconds now that she figured it out, but she loves it and thats what matters. After about 6 months the little swivel links have started to show rust spots but not enough to replace...yet. The chain still looks great though so eventually will cost me 50 cents to replace those.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for monk parakeet, July 25, 2011

It's the right size for a monk (quaker) parakeet. My bird loves it. She's fast at it but it does offer a foraging opportunity. Durable for the small birds.
