DGL is a miracle for gastritis, ulcer pain, and any acid irritation in the stomach. DGL is deglycchirinized licorice which helps the stomach renew and rebuild its protective mucous layer. This is great because you get pain relief from the mucous layer instead of by taking antacid, which would inhibit the acid you NEED for digesting your food, DGL does a better job without inhibiting proper digestion. The relief you feel the moment you chew one or two of these tablets is practically immediate - or within a few minutes at most. There is a WIDE range in palatability in DGL tablets out there - unless you love the flavor of black licorice, many will taste terrible. This product from Nature's Life however, tastes like coffee - it is really great tasting and amazingly effective with NO side effects (licorice root which has NOT been deglycchirinized can raise blood pressure, but DGL will not cause any problems). I have seen this product provide even better relief than many prescription medications. Try it once and it will become a staple in your medicine cabinet.

I was diagnosed with "mild" gastritis about a year ago. I don't think I have to tell gastritis sufferers that even "mild" gastritis is painful. I have been taking Prilosec (20 mg twice daily). But just taking the Prilosec wasn't quite cutting it, so I began to look for alternative treatments for my gastritis while of course continuing with the Prilosec.

Nature's Life DGL is, in a word, the ticket.

Twenty minutes after taking one tablet, I had lunch -- no problems. Gastritis sufferers know all too well that about 20-30 minutes after eating, when the stomach begins secreting gastric juices, the burning pain begins.

This product is better than the Prilosec; however, I won't stop the Prilosec until I meet with my doctor.

This product also appears to be at least as good as Aloe Vera juice, which is good for immediate gastritis relief and good to have on hand for general wellness but for me did not seem to provide long-term relief.

Curiously, a blurb on the label reads "1 Daily," but the directions read: "Chew one (1) tablet 20 minutes before each meal and before bedtime. ..."

Highly recommended for gastritis sufferers, and so far IMO the best-tasting DGL tablet.

This was my favorite DGL for years. Amazon didn't have it for a while. When I saw it was back in stock, I ordered 2 bottles. Big mistake.

Either I got a bad batch, or NL has changed the formula. The tablets have a different taste and texture than before. They burned my throat rather than soothed. I opened both bottles and both were the same "new" flavor and texture.

I've tried most of the other brands and the NL is the only one that worked. Now I'm stuck with 2 bottles I can't use.
