Product Description

Size: 1000

Natures Life Icelandic Kelp is harvested in late autumn and winter from the mineral-rich ocean waters around Iceland in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. After harvesting, the kelp is carefully washed, chopped, dried, ground, and screened. The washing is done with mineral-rich fresh water from geothermal bores and the heat for the drying process is obtained from the same source. This process ensures maximum retention of the minerals, vitamins, amino acids and essential fatty acids. No chemicals, pesticides or herbicides are used in growing or processing. Suitable for vegetarians.

Got enough to last me a very long time, and probably will get more for my son's family.

On the bottle I received, it read, "This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm."

Thyroxin regulates all the hormone producing glands throughout the body as well as regulates the heart's natural pace maker.

Over the years, while I've fought cancer in the natural, after my doctors told me to go home and die, I found my EHA (Elemental Hair Analysis) exams always showed my iodine levels non-existent. I did put my cancer into total remission and stopped the development of tumors some 11 years ago, but ridding myself of the existing tumors, which have no blood supply that formed...well, that has proven a challenge. I took out table salt with iodine in it, because I didn't need the chlorine. I've used other supplements over the past 17 years in my battle to keep my iodine levels up, but this one is a great product for the money.

While using high dosages of cesium and rubidum to raise my internal pH to work on dissolving some inoperable tumors that formed in my back, I started to develop heart problems. Cesium chelates potassium out of the body. So supplementing with plenty of potassium, 3 grams of potassium for each 3 grams of cesium, along with the iodine in kelp, to produce potassium iodide in my system, stopped the heart arythmias. I knew I needed the iodine, as well, because I could feel the electrical disturbances starting from my thyroid going down to the north node of my heart, the natural pace maker of the heart. I endured radio frequency ablation on my heart back in 1996 which gained me 16 more years of life without a pace maker, so I do have to be watchful with my heart over the course of a long battle that started from ingesting contaminted sausage through one of my local grocers (Vons Supermarket) who never took responsibility for what they sold me, but covered the whole thing up. It's a long story.

Still, I'm alive because I met a wonderful naturopath, Dr. Rick Santee, who knew how to guide and direct me in my learning, as I took control of my own health care.

On the bottle I received, it read, "This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm." I called and they said it has some lead in it. That's a hard pill to swallow.

on the bottle it clearly states "this product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm." im upset cus i wanted something with iodine in it that would help reverse the calcification of my pineal gland but this stuff is just as bad cus it has LEAD in it. call the number and they will tell you it has a little amount of lead in it.

To my knowledge, this is one of the lowest potency Kelp tablets available. Still, it is 225% above MRDA and for me, it's what my body needed. I eat right (mostly), don't take any prescription drugs and exercise at least 3 times a week for twenty minutes. That given, I'm still 68 years old and while I have a full head of hair (huge and really long right now) something seemed to be lacking from my - ah - focus and concentration capabilities of only a few years ago.

I read about the catalyst function of Iodine in my diet and remembered that Kelp has one of the highest levels of Iodine which occurs in nature. This version served the purpose of seemingly functioning as a catalyst to get the rest of my nutrition working. I don't know if that is exclusively true or scientifically or a technically true statement - but I feel better and can create valid, if intricate sentences again. That's what I was looking for and what it achieved.

The price was right - the results were better than expected.

I'll buy again when I need it.

At first I was offput by the other reviews here about lead contamination, but on doing a little more research I found these complaints to be misleading. I called the Nature’s Life customer service number on the bottle to ask what the maximum lead limit for their products is, and was informed that this is 3 ppm. Three parts per million is the international standard limit for lead in herbal products. The California labeling legislation has a stricter limit of 0.5 ppm for lead, and therefore, products that meet international safety standards but fall short of the more stringent CA requirement must be labeled as "cancer causing" if they are to be sold in CA. The real kicker, though, is that many herbal suppliers do not comply with the California labelling law. So just because you buy some other brand of kelp (or any other herb, for that matter) that doesn’t have the California labelling on it doesn’t mean you are getting a more pure product. Case in point: I phoned a well-known organic herb supplier to ask them about the limits for lead in their kelp. They told me 2 µg per serving, which works out to (drumroll please...) --- you guessed it! Three ppm! Yet there was no CA labelling on their product. So, I say, kudos to Nature’s Life for being upfront and honest about their product. I have been taking it for about a week and already am experiencing positive effects.

I would recommend to anyone who wants to improve their thyroid function - It can not do any farm as it is all natural. For someone with symptoms of an under-active thyroid, this formula could be a life saver. It also improve skin, makes it softer and promotes a bit of hair regrowth, makes you hair thicker! Double package was an incredible deal! Thank you Amazon!
