2.0 out of 5 stars Great concept but cats hated it
I was very excited about the idea of using a biodegradable litter that I could flush. As soon as I read about this litter, I rushed out and bought a couple of bags. I gradually added it to my regular clumping litter in order for my two cats to get used to the idea of using this new litter. After about a month, I switched to pans of 100% Nature's Miracle litter...

I am a first time cat owner in a relatively small apartment with one bathroom.
Kitty was adopted from a family who used cheap clay cat litter in her box. I could not use this as it made me sneeze and feel sick in the back of my throat.
The cat absolutely hated a highly rated deodorized 'flushable' cat litter. In addition, the expensive stuff didn't stay clumped, and so the stuff broke up in the litter box, which got nasty and stayed that way. Kitty made every possible effort to avoid touching the litter and would first perch precariously on the box edge, then frantically wipe her paws on the side of the box, after the most perfunctory effort to cover up. So I got a box of NATURE'S MIRACLE next. It's made of corncobs. I have a moral objection to using cat litter made from corn or wheat, since I feel it is a sin to have animals use food as a toilet. Corncobs are all right, though; and it was claimed that the ground bits in this product were far more absorbent than the other types of litter. I was a little dubious when I smelled it... the pine fragrance is pretty strong when you open the bag,and I was worried that it would put the cat off using it. NO problem. This is outstanding. I won't go on too much longer, but when it clumps, it stays clumped; there is no odor whatever from the clumps, and everything flushes just fine; and while the cat does track a little out of the box (again when wiping her paws) it does not go far, and it does sweep up easily, as the other litters also did.

I can't recommend this highly enough. What a relief.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff, July 25, 2005
This review is from: Nature's Miracle Odor Control Clumping Cat Litter 10-lb bag (Misc.)
I used to share an apt. with a friend who had two cats. She always bought the cheapest litter, because to her - all litter is the same... And the apt always stunk of cat litter, I would keep the door to my room shut at ALL times - just to keep the scent out of my room. (Plus I am a neat freak, not quite OCD but close)

So, when my husband and I just decided to get two kittens - I was concerned about the smell and the mess. Before we went and got them I started checking out different types of litter. After much research, I picked out four kinds of litter that seemed to have natural ingredients and got good reviews. I figured I would see what the pet store had first and go from there.

I liked the way this litter felt in the bag - soft and small granules. So I decided to try this one first. We went and got two eight-week old kittens from the shelter and set up the house. They LOVED the litter - after three weeks we have had NO accidents in the house att all. The litter box is only about 7-8 feet from where we sleep and we don't smell anything.

The Kittens love it - Everytime I finish scooping it clean they run to the box and step in it. Plus - it clumps better than the clay stuff my old roommate used to use. My scooper doesn't get chunks of stool on it and when I emptied the box last week to put in fresh litter - I didn't need to scrub the box or anything.

I highly recommend this litter to anyone who has a cat. If they made stuff this good for reptiles - my dragons would have it.

Now I just need to decide if I want to invest in the Omega Paw box as my second box or not?????

I didn't want to use clay-based litter because of the health issues associated with them so I started using another natural litter, 'Citramax', which for a while wasn't terrible but the odor was pretty bad and it wasn't a clumping litter or absorbing any moisture. If I could kiss whoever developed this litter, I would! It clumps really well, you don't have to pull out the clumps every day, it has a very light and natural scent you barely notice and my cat likes it. Plus, with the clumping, no litter goes to waste- you just shovel out the clumps and leave what is there and add new litter to it. LOVE THIS PRODUCT! (Wish I had tried it first a year ago...)

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as litter gets!, August 24, 2006

This review is from: Nature's Miracle Odor Control Clumping Cat Litter 10-lb bag (Misc.)
I work as a vet tech, and live in a tiny apartment with 3 cats above my hospital (as well as a cat-poo-loving Cattle Dog!). I've tried just about EVERY litter on the market, as I hate to scoop every day but can't stand smelly boxes, and I like to offer suggestions to our clients who have cats with inappropriate elimination problems.

I am only halfway through my 1st bag of this stuff, and I have 3 boxes in the apartment. I thought it a little bit pricey at first, but I can't believe how far it stretches. My cats have adapted well to it, and don't hesitate at the litter's scent (which I LOVE without it being overwhelming). A charity case cat that I have who prefers peeing on fabric than litter (ew!) has even been seen to urinate in the NM litter-- maybe b/c the texture is light and soft. All 3 cats actually did not bury poo in their clay clumping letter, but have started to with the NM litter, which helps a lot with the poo-eating dog (an added bonus!).

Even though this litter does track a fair amount due to the texture and light weight, I don't notice it any more than with clay clumping litter-- especially b/c my cats don't seem to mind walking on it like they did the clay. Since my litterboxes are in the bathroom, the tracked NM isn't nearly as bad as the tracked clumping clay-- first off, it doesn't gross me out on the floor b/c the little pieces still look/smell clean; second, it's easier to sweep up quickly with a dustpan (unlike those clay granules that bounce off everywhere); and third, because when I step out of the shower, it doesn't seem to stick as much to my wet feet, or if it does, it doesn't melt into that sticky clay mess. :)

For those with geriatric cats, too, the NM is great b/c it doesn't form those gross clumps in the hair between their toes that older cats can't seem to groom out!. It's easy to clean, and as long as I scoop when I notice that the box looks dirty (Since even then I don't smell that nasty litterbox odor!!), I find that I need to replenish very little litter each time-- whereas with clay, even scooped regularly, I needed to dump the entire box at least once a week or it would begin to smell rank.

i wouldn't have written a review, except I just printed all of the others out because I'm recommending that our vet hospital carry this litter, and I want to show our clients that others than me have had such good success with the NM. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars The best litter yet!, September 15, 2005
This review is from: Nature's Miracle Odor Control Clumping Cat Litter 10-lb bag (Misc.)
I've used clay scoopable litter and I've also used Sweat Scoop (never to purchase again). When I used Nature's Miracle it was great! Its so light weight that it doesn't bend the litter scoop (meaning not heavy). It doesn't have any odor to it at all. The only thing it tracks really easily so I have a track guard infront of the litter box. It is also flushable! I don't flush it because I have many cats in the house so I'll end up plugging up the toilet. Instead I use a diaper dispenser for the cat litter I scooped out. Another thing when you purchase a 10 lb. bag you'll think it's not enough but actually it last for a whole month! Depending how many times you scoop out the litter box sometimes you can get away with two months. So out of all the cat litter I recommend this one by far.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Miracle!!!, November 8, 2006
This review is from: Nature's Miracle Odor Control Clumping Cat Litter 10-lb bag (Misc.)
This stuff is nothing short of amazing! I have two cats. One is part albino therefore very sensitive and allergic to clay litter (to the point where her eyes actually swell shut!). My other cat I've had problems with going outside of the litter box after I switched from clay to Feline Pine, which neither I or the cats liked for many reasons. Anyway, I slowly introduced this litter over about a week and WOW.....just........WOW! It clumps which is great, they actually cover their poop (which really helps the smell), it doesn't smell even after the two months I've been scooping it without changing the whole thing, my albino mix isn't having any problems with it at all, and best of all my other cat is always going in the box now. They love it and I love it. I also work in a large pet store and talk to many people every day that use this cat litter with nothing but good things to say about it. I truly think this is the best litter on the market, hands down!

I gradually added it to my regular clumping litter in order for my two cats to get used to the idea of using this new litter. After about a month, I switched to pans of 100% Nature's Miracle litter. Immediately, the cat box odor became a problem. It really wasn't the litter's fault. My cats hated the litter and refused to bury their feces. As a result, it sat on top of the litter and exuded odor. I have since switched back to regular clay, clumping litter and the cats have switched back to burying their feces.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nature's Miracle has excellent odor control, April 24, 2005

This review is from: Nature's Miracle Odor Control Clumping Cat Litter 10-lb bag (Misc.)
When I decided I wanted to switch to a different litter after SwheatScoop (see my review for why) I decided to give this a try and I've stuck with it although it's not as easy to find and can be expensive.
Here's why I like it:
1) Very light weight
2) Soft on paws
3) Clumps flush flawlessly
4) Clumps stay clumped
5) The enzyme controls work extremely well. I share MY bathroom with one of my cats-she's old and gets beaten up by the others so she has a separate litter box. The bag says to change the litter every three weeks. I decided to see how long it would really last, so I didn't change it and just supplemented periodically to keep enough litter. With daily cleaning I was able to leave the litter for over two months before it started to smell litter-boxy. I won't do this regularly but it's nice to know the litter is that effective.
6) NOT a food product
7) Pine-scented, not lavender. I'm sorry, but I tried the lavender stuff. My cats hated me, and cat pee on lavender really isn't a great combo.
8) Convenient 10lb bag size so it's easy to carry and store & it's got a resealable bag plastic bag so it stays fresh and doesn't spill if knocked over.

The reason this isn't getting 5 stars is that the light fluffy particles can be a bit static-y and do track. It cleans up easily with a broom but it does travel and get into rugs and loose "flakes" will also stick to the bottom of the toilet bowl after flushing. It's much nicer to clean up than sticky or hard clay granules, however.

I have 4 cats and 5 litter boxes, which I clean every other day. I HATE to smell cat litter boxes!! I have used every type of litter there is. I was hooked on Feline Pine for quite a while, but my husband didn't like the strong pine smell, even when it was fresh. I even tried the new scoopable pine, but the cats didn't seem to like that as much and the pine smell was still pretty strong...which I didn't happen to mind, but the husband...SO I kept searching for other brands. FINALLY I tried Nature's Miracle, and we couldn't be happier. The cats like it, the husband likes it, but most importantly, I like it! :) It's lightweight, has a pleasant smell, and it WORKS. It clumps well and it absorbs odors. The only thing I wish is that they'd make a larger bag. 10 lbs doesn't go very far with 5 litter boxes! A 20-25 lb bag would be ideal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best cat litter on market, August 6, 2006

This review is from: Nature's Miracle Odor Control Clumping Cat Litter 10-lb bag (Misc.)
When I started having back problems and couldn't haul my regular clumping cat litter out of the store (they quit selling all cat litters in the 8 lb sacks and went to 14 lb - I can't lift over 10 lbs), I started looking around for a lighter cat litter that I could carry. I found Nature's Miracle at my local Petsmart and brought a 10 lb bag home to try. My finicky cat Sugar took to it like a fish to water!! This litter clumps wonderfully (easy to scoop), doesn't track like regular cat litter and smells better longer than regular clumping cat litter (regular scooping every 2 days and this litter lasts 3-4 weeks). Since Sugar's "room" is in the study which is right next to the front door, most people don't realize we have a cat until they see her so that tells you how well this cat litter works. I highly recommend it over any other brand.
