3.0 out of 5 stars clumps well, but don't like the smell
I've been using this for a long time with 6 cats in the house and I think it clumps really well. The reason I'm looking for a new brand, however, is because the smell is really getting to me. It's bad enough to smell the pee/poop smells, but when you layer a perfume-y smell on top of that it almost makes it worse. This heavy scent doesn't smell natural to me. I wish they...

I had nearly given up hope of finding an eco-friendly cat litter that actually worked, until I tried Nature's Miracle. After a few weeks of using this litter with my two indoor cats, I am definitely sold. I've listed some pros and cons to explain why I really like this cat litter:

PROS:
- Controls ammonia and solids odor well. It may not be comparable to the perfumed, clay litters on the market, but it certainly outperforms all other natural litters and with daily scooping I don't really notice the cat box smell.
- Clumping. This makes cleaning the litter box much easier and, unlike some other eco-friendly litters, this litter does not stick to the litter box.
- Price. It's maybe not the cheapest litter on the market, but if you care about the environment and the health of your family and pets, this is definitely a good option. It probably doesn't last me quite as long as the package claims, but one bag still lasts a good amount of time.
- Eco-friendly. I absolutely refuse to use clay based litters that harm the environment and potentially harm my cats or my family, so this litter is a good choice.
- No dust. Even when filling the litter box there seems to be very little dust in the air from this litter and there doesn't seem to be any when the cats are digging and flinging litter everywhere, either.

CONS:
- Tracking. This litter is very light and small, so it does track very easily. A decent litter mat will probably catch most of it, but if you, too, have a cat that likes to shoot straight out of the box and fling litter everywhere, this may be a deal-breaker. I don't, however, notice any of it stuck to their paws or fur, which is a plus.
- Pine smell. I have no problem with the pine smell and it doesn't seem to bother my cats, but it's certainly noticeable and may offend some sensitive kitty, or owner, noses.

I'm sure this litter doesn't work miracles for everyone, but I am truly glad I've found Nature's Miracle. Considering odor control, price and ease of use this is probably the best eco-friendly cat litter out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, April 15, 2009
This review is from: Natures Miracle JFC Corn Cob Cat Litter, 10-Pound (Misc.)
I had looked at many non-clay litters from pellets to sawdust stuff and was not impressed. I like Nature's Miracle because it similar to the clay scoopable I was using. Following instructions, I started by mixing natures miracle in with my normal scoopable, and used more and more until the scoopable was gone and it was totally nature's miracle. My cat had no problem switching. The urine spots are a little damper than the clay, but it still clumps. Overall the smell is much better, no dust, and knowing my cat is not breathing in the clay is wonderful to me. Well worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it., January 9, 2009
This review is from: Natures Miracle JFC Corn Cob Cat Litter, 10-Pound (Misc.)
I tried several other kinds and Nature's Miracle is the best. First time I tried it my cats didn't use it for several days, so I had different litter in another litter box. Eventually one of my cats got curious and tried, and it worked very well and now both like it. It tracks but I put a door mat in front of the box and the bathroom door, so it won't go all over the house. I like that it won't cause health problems for cats and humans like other clumping clay litters do, and it doesn't have unpleasant smell like wet clay or corn based litters. Also, it's light weight and easy to handle. It lasts longer than the other litters, too. I love this litter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Natural Cat Litter!, July 26, 2010
This review is from: Natures Miracle JFC Corn Cob Cat Litter, 10-Pound (Misc.)
As this is my first time adopting two cats, I did a lot of research on cat health. After reading that the clay litter can possibly cause lung problems in cats, I decided to use only natural products. Please note that the 3 litter boxes are in the basement (I followed the mantra of one litter box per cat, plus one faithfully).

The first product I used was Shweat Shcoop (spelling?). It tracked a lot, there was NO odor control and it really stuck to the litter box, and I had to scrape it out.

I then tried World's Best Cat Litter (original). The improvement was that it didn't stick to the litter box, but again it tracks a lot, and there was NO odor control. I then tried the extra strength and still not much odor control. I can still smell it on the first floor.

Frustrated, I then asked my local pet store if there are any other corn-based litter, and he pointed me to Nature's Miracle. It had MUCH less tracking than World's Best, NO sticking to the litter box, and real odor control. I cannot smell anything on the first floor even with every other day cleaning. It also clumps well and easy to sift through. My cats had no problems with it, and it's way softer than Schweat Schoop and World's Best Cat Litter, so better on paws.

Although the clay litter varieties may have even better odor control than Nature's Miracle, they are potentionally poisonous with the clay and chemicals, and I feel relieved that it is even safe for cats to eat Nature's Miracle (just enzymes, protein, corn, pine scent).

I totally clean everything out including the litter boxes maybe every 6 weeks or so maybe longer (I add more nature's miracle when it gets low) and no noticeable smell from the first floor.

Because of these reasons (minimal tracking on the floor, great odor control, easy to wash out, safety, clumps well), I give it 5 stars. More than 5 stars if it's self cleaning!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Litter Ever, June 23, 2009

This is the best litter I have ever used. It is practically dust free, and doesn't smell like clay litters can. It lasts for around 3 weeks, so changing out the litter happens less often (that's for the lazy people. Let's face it, cat people are lazy, or we would be out walking dogs). My favorite part is that it is flushable, and clumps immediately. I have heard complaints that its lightweight makes me sweep teh floor more often, but I think that is more a result of my cat kicking it out of the box. I will never go back to any other cat litter.

I wish they made it in unscented, I'd probably stick with it. Are you listening, Nature's Miracle? Unscented, please. I do like that it's biodegradable. It tends to track a bit, but because it's such a good clumper I ignored the tracking. If it came in an unscented version, I'd give it 4 stars. Enzymes are good, as long as they're unscented.

We have used some of the "clay" litter before which is dusty and smells aweful. This litter has a light and pleasant smell - maybe not the greatest odor blocker for the cat waste - but it does the job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Litter, November 14, 2011
This review is from: Natures Miracle JFC Corn Cob Cat Litter, 10-Pound (Misc.)
This litter is the real "World's Best". It clumps well, kills smells, is light, non dusty, and easy to clean. The only other litter that is as good is Precious Cat, but it weights a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars good stuff for cats owners, June 23, 2011

This review is from: Natures Miracle JFC Corn Cob Cat Litter, 10-Pound (Misc.)
Natures Miracle makes many excellent products for pet owners. I get the litter...make sure it is the original which is brown and not clay litter...clumps beautifully...keeps box clean with no stick...no odor at all...and if you scoop the box daily or 2x daily you really don't need to change it for a couple weeks depending...just add a little...it costs more than clay but the cats like it more and it is less work and less mess in the house.

I also love the cleaning products. They work magic and I have also used them for clothing stains from food and grass recently and in the bathroom for what might have stained...remove organic stains very well...no muss and do not add water...just a little liquid.
