It has a cheap disgusting air freshener odor that is extremely strong.

Unfortunately this particular paper litter is just not very absorbent, and because of that the odor control is not effective.

My cats are not exited about that litter at all, when they have choice, they use the other kind I have (world's best).

This kitty litter is great. It clumps wonderfully and doesn't break apart easily. When scooping the box if I hit a clump of litter it doesn't break apart, instead it's like hitting a rock and I'm able to scoop it up. It doesn't track much and my cats don't seem to kick as much of it out of the box. The odor control is good; it doesn't smell like cat pee and when my cat's do cover their stuff you can't smell it. I highly recommend it. I have 3 cats; one older obese male, and two middle-aged females.

This litter is exactly what I was looking for. It looks and feels like the normal Tidy Cat clumping litter I used to buy, but it's not.... it's recycled PAPER! I refuse to purchase any more Tidy Cat (or other brand of clay-based litter) because the process of taking the clay from the ground is so bad for the environment and creates a huge carbon footprint for anyone who uses it. I've tries World's Best (corn based) as well as the leading pine tree shavings type litter, but my cats didn't care for them much and one decided to use the floor instead. Then I found this item at the local discount Pet Supply store (at under $12/bag) and finally found a litter that is environmentally friendly and my cats will actually use! I highly recommend this litter.

This is by far the worst cat litter I have ever used. If I could have given it zero stars I would have. It is even worse than silica/litter pearls, which do not absorb anything. At least with those, the urine doesn't pool on your cat's feet but runs down into the bottom of the pan and pools there.

First of all, this litter smells horrifying. It has a cheap disgusting air freshener odor that is extremely strong. It is much worse than the smell of cat urine or feces.

Second of all, it is NOT ABSORBENT. When my poor cat urinated in it, the urine pooled on top of the litter so that he was crouching in a puddle of urine, which instead of absorbing into the litter or going to the bottom of the pan, actually absorbed into the fur of his back legs and butt. The litter tracks like crazy, and the particles are so tiny (like grains of sand) that it is excruciatingly difficult to clean up.

My cat's hind legs and hind end were not only soaked in a large volume of urine after using this litter, but in addition, he had tons of the litter caked to his urine stained back legs. It was awful! I had to wash my cat afterward.

When I promptly dumped this awful cat litter into the trash, I could see that the urine was still sitting in liquid form at the bottom of the pan. None of it had been absorbed by the litter.

Horrible product! Avoid! I will be requesting my money back from the manufacturer.

I'm so happy to have found this! I used to use PaPurr litter for my cats, but they seemed to have stopped making it. This almost identical, and it works great. Not hugely clumping, but way better (and better for the environment) than clay. I have septic and need something that won't hurt the pipes if I flush a little with the poop (not the clumps!). But I wish they sold it in stores; can't find it at PetSmart or Petco, darn it.

Especially if you have a cat with allergies! used to be able to buy it in the pet stores and now I can't find anywhere! Thanks to Amazon my cat can still have his favorite litter. Dust free, Fragrance free and with some cats that are particular with how the litter feels on their paws, and some do, they will love it! A fine paper litter that feels like sand between your toes....that is what my Kitty Kevin thinks and he is extremely high maintenance and deserves the best in everything, even his litter preferences! :)

Clumping is poor, after scooping there are little bits of the dirty litter scattered. Didn't last as long as the other scoop brands. I would not buy it again.

Not sure why some folks are saying their litter did not clump. I wonder if there was a bad batch lot at some point.

For me the litter clumps great. It does track with my cats but it is by far the least dusty clumping litter i have ever used -- i have kept cats for 40 years. I also like how it does not stick to the sides or bottom of my plastic litter boxes and the clumps hold together well even for my young neutered male who tries to dig to China each time he uses the box.

To me there is minimal odor to the litter. It is not "scented". It smells like old newsprint to me which makes sense given that that's what it's made from.

Another benefit is that it is much lighter weight wise than regular clumping clay. Helps a lot when dragging it up and down stairs.

I like to mix this in with cheaper clumping clay litter. It still works great that way and helps to cut the cost.

Overall this is one of my favorite litters of all time. Even better that it is a recycled product. My cats love it. 5 stars.
