Review
"The photographs in this book are invariably of the highest quality, well composed and with an eye for lighting. That speaks only for the technical aspects, however, the emotional quality, the seeing if you will, is also very keen. Mr. Planck's subjects range from grand spacious landscape to tiny jumping spiders, with an obvious affinity for them all." -- Written by Bob Shell, Shutterbug, December 1993
From the Publisher
Rod Planck is one of the foremost nature photographers in the United States. He began using a camera to express his lifelong love of nature over twenty years ago. His vast experience in the field has led to a broad understanding - and a deep respect that is the basis for his interest in nature photography. This respect demands a non-manipulative, non-commercial approach to photography. As a result, Nature's Places does not contain images of captive animals from game farms or zoos, or computer-manipulated images.
Rod's photographs have graced the pages of Audubon, Sierra, National Wildlife, Natural History, Backpacker, Birder's World, Ranger Rick, Outdoor Photographer and Photo Life. Rod is also a renowned instructor who has been conducting nature photography workshops and seminars for over15 years.
Rod's photographs in Nature's Places are accompanied by a thoughtful and informative text by Bert C. Ebbers.
