Every natural living thing has lead in it...Especially vegetables,

This review is from: Nature's Plus - Animal Parade Cherry/Oran/Grape, 180 chewable tablets (Health and Beauty)
So I did buy this for my daughter. Great product but it is not as good as there gold version which has better and more vitamins and minerals. The amount of lead does not scare me. Everything we eat has lead unless it was made in a lab and you took out the lead. You'd have to build it from the ground up as well. (E.G Synthetic oil, lab made vitamins)
Also the benefits literally outweight the risks since some of the vitamins/minerals in this product actually increases your body ability to absorb less lead by increasing your lead tolerance. So here is a comment I posted on people crying about the lead in this. Please do read it. Especially you organic and natural food lovers. """"This is pretty dumb. lead is in virtually every natural growing thing hence why the Multivitamins that had the least were the ones that were lab-made vitamins or were not as potent as animal parade. More Potent (natural-made) = more lead. Now the dietary tolerable amount for children ages 6 and under is 6 MICROGRAMS got it? That means that the body is able to get rid of it easily and thus no effect. What does this mean you ask? It means that even the Animal Parade Shake had 2.88 MICROGRAMS (Animal Parade Vitamins had 0.623 MCG, less than a microgram). Why am I capitalizing the micrograms? Because well a microgram is one millionth of a gram. Food Highest Amount of Lead in a 4 Ounce (1/2 cup) Serving Shrimp, boiled 23.8 mcg Italian salad dressing 12.2 mcg Mixed nuts, no peanuts, roasted 10.2 mcg Liver, beef, fried 9.0 mcg Brussels sprouts, fresh, boiled 7.9 mcg Sweet potato, fresh, baked 7.2 mcg Spinach, boiled 7.0 mcg Dry table wine 6.8 mcg Avocado, raw 4.5 mcg Honey 4.5 mcg Watermelon, raw 4.5 mcg Raisin bran cereal 4.1 mcg Raisins, dried 3.5 mcg Cottage cheese 4% milk fat 3.4 mcg Cucumber, Raw 3.4 mcg Peach, raw 3.4 mcg Granola cereal 3.0 mcg Shredded wheat cereal 3.0 mcg Whole wheat bread 2.8 mcg Onions, mature, raw 2.7 mcg Apple, red, raw 2.6 mcg Green peas, boiled 2.2 mcg Lima beans, boiled 2.2 mcg Strawberries, raw 2.0 mcg Eggs, boiled 1.5 mcg Whole milk 1.2 mcg Lead is in almost everything and is present in vegetables more than meat due to the plants abilty to absorb more lead through the air and soil. It is a byproduct in the air we breathe. The known health effects take place around 60 MCG for a child under 6 and yet it is over a period of time. YOU'RE WELCOME! """ I don't work for this company or anything like that, but these are great vitamins for my child. I was just as worried as anyone else when I heard the news. Im a responsible parent and person so I looked at information everywhere. I can't even imagine how much of this you would have to ingest to get any side effect of lead poisoning. Do the math, do your own research. Be smart parents for these are your kids. Lead is in the air we breathe, so are you going to turn your child into bubble boy?

I typically don't pay attention to reviews that list problems without a source. But in seeing the past review regarding high lead levels I did some research and the FDA does have this product listed as having one of the higher lead levels for children's vitamins from a study done 8/08.
Here is the FDA link: [...] (OK, my link was edited out, look in comments of the post below or search the FDA website.) I found no rebuttal or mention of this on the Nature's Plus website, so I will no longer use this product. The FDA does list the lead level within acceptable limits. My thought on that is: 1. Why is there ANY lead in children's vitamins! 2. There is NO safe level of lead to consume. Again do your own research on this. 2115|R39B1V01IISME7;2115|RUSQ0IM00A5C8;2115|R3AM0N32CTQAX5;
