I totally disagree with the reviewer that bad mouthed this product. I use the Cherries Jubilee every day and enjoy the taste. I blend it with water and a little bit of vanilla soy milk, and it tastes like cherries to me! Sometimes for an added treat I add a few fresh strawberries and blueberries. I've also tried the peach (yummy), strawberry, and tangerine. I've enjoyed all of them, and found them to be very helpful as a meal replacement when I'm trying to keep my weight down and keep my energy up. I hope the negative review doesn't discourage you from trying this excellent product!

the shaker bottle thing is AWESOME! And Spiruteen shakes are fabulous! I didn't like the "crispy" one, that was gross, but vanilla is my all time fave! it's about the same calories or less than one slice of bread AND its GLUTEN FREE! The only shake flavor that isn't is the cookies and cream, but I don't usually care for those kind of flavors anyhow.

I love this product...highly recommend it for other shake/smoothie junkies like myself. One thing I DO NOT recommend...buying from the Vitamin Shoppe. I didn't receive my product & they never responded to any of my emails. BAD COMPANY DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

I used the shaker once, but globs of powder stuck to the side and undissolved blobs remained in the drink. Dissolves on contact? Some people like those pockets of powder in their drink perhaps. It's not too bad in the blender with frozen fruit added to help it dissolve and improve the taste. It does have a taste that is somewhat chemical and just doesn't taste fresh. I wouldn't buy it again. As another poster or two stated, the chocolate crunch flavor was horrible. It made me sick to my stomach and I had to throw most of it away.

I have been doing smoothies for awhile for breakfast and wanted to add protein powder to it. I read about the great nutrition in Spiru-tein and really wanted to give it a try. A lot of people said that it was great tasting, but I figured it wouldn't matter too much because I would be mixing it in with juice, yogurt, and lots of fruit. So, here's what I thought...

-First we (my husband and I) tried the double fudge crunch flavor with milk. I blended it up and it was still hard to get it smooth. Upon tasting, the initial taste is not bad as long as you work hard not to smell it while you are drinking it (it smells horrid). However, the after taste is horrendous. I managed to finish mine without getting sick, but felt a little off after that. My husband couldn't finish his. I figured it would be no big deal because the fruity flavors and the vanilla were things I wanted to add to my smoothie.

The following morning I added two scoops of vanilla to my smoothie. This worked okay, but you could still tell it was there and it was still a weird after taste that I disliked. I know other protein powders can have the same issue and it isn't one I like, but this one was a really funky after taste.

I still used all of it one spoon at a time in my smoothie. I also tried the strawberry banana and that one was just as bad. I bought a vanilla protein powder (soy and whey) from the bulk aisle of my local store and tried that. I couldn't tell it was in there at all. So, wanting to use up the last of the Spiru-tein I mixed the tropical fruit with the half pound of vanilla protein powder I had bought hoping it would cut down on the flavor and after taste. To that I added 1 large banana, 1/2 cup strawberry banana yogurt, pineapple juice, and 1 whole cup of strawberries. With only two spoons of the tropical fruit flavor/vanilla mix and all you could taste was nasty tropical fruit. It was gross.

All in all, I have a few flavors left and it is likely that I won't be able to drink them. The cup is good for drinking other things in though it leaks making it a poor travel cup. The nutrition (minus the high sugar in many of the flavors) is great, it isn't worth it if you can't stomach it (It gets two stars because of the great nutrition). If you have a strong stomach or a poor sense of smell...you might be able to get away with it. I recommend finding a store that sells it and trying just one single serving pack at a time rather than getting this. If you hate them all then it really stinks that you spent so much. That's how it is with us!

While I haven't tried all the powders, the chocolate peanut butter one is absolutely disgusting! Like the one reviewer said, tastes like chemicals. True. I have had many soy protein powders before, but this one was awful. I still have 5 more to try in my variety pack I bought at the health food store and will honestly give them a chance. Maybe this would have tasted better if I had actually added peanut butter to the blender.

No complaints about the service, the product was delivered promptly. But the product itself tastes like industrial waste and I couldn't manage more than a sip or two of every flavor I tried. I'm not particularly fussy about food or supplements but this stuff is just nasty and I can't imagine anyone using it on a regular basis after the first attempt.

Sorry, folks, but that's just the way it is. Back to fresh fruits and vegetables for me!!
