She actually LOVES this food much more.

It's amazing how many vegetarian foods or non-chicken recipe foods still have chicken-by-products in the ingredients list!!

Her coat is silky smooth as ever and I feel confident she is eating very healthy.

My Basset Hound Cosmo is 10 years old as of March 31, 2013. I've struggled with getting him a food he likes that does NOT contain any chicken or chicken-by-product ingredients. Crazy as it seems, Cosmo is allergic to chicken. (I've got kids and they aren't even prone to food allergies but the darn dog is!). For the past few years I was feeding Cosmo Purina Pro-Plan Selects Salmon and Wild Rice. It's good, but $52+ dollars for a 30# bag... and back in January when I couldn't find it anymore I was forced to find a new brand. (Pro Plan stopped making it). It's amazing how many vegetarian foods or non-chicken recipe foods still have chicken-by-products in the ingredients list!! Lamb and rice? Yep, there's chicken in there. Fish and potato recipe? Yep -- chicken. UGH!

When I found Nature's Recipe I was elated and I bought a 30# bag right away. But the true test was picky Cosmo. Guess what? He LOVES it. I used to free feed him but now I have to make sure I'm not filling his bowl too much cause it seems he's addicted to it! When his bowl is empty he looks at me like "mom -- come on, is it tomorrow yet?".

This food is highly recommended. Not a bad price (although on Amazon it seems high -- you'll find it for $42.99 for a 30# bag at PetSmart). NO CHICKEN or CHICKEN BY PRODUCT! And it's picky dog approved.

My dog has horrible skin allergies that cause wounds and the vet recommended this food to see if it would help him. I was skeptic because of how serious his problem had been for a couple of years. I was also skeptic that a dog could be vegetarian, but the vet assured me that they create all of the amino acids that are required for dogs. After researching that on my own and seeing that was true & seeing it was 5-star rated on both the main pet sites, I tried it. Holy cow, it worked!!!!! Moo has been eating this for over 2 years now and his skin allergies are long gone. He's happy and healthy and even lost the few extra pounds he was carrying!!

This dog food smells like wheat thins! :) I bought it because my dog was having some dermatitis skin issues and the vet suggested that I get a food specifically marketed for skin and coat health. I can't say that there was any difference in his skin or coat after finishing this bag of food off, everything was the same as usual. He ate it with gusto, but this is a dog who has been known to eat acorns, pistachio shells, and small rodents so he's never met a kibble that he hasn't happily inhaled. More telling, the cat, who usually begs for dog kibble with a passion, sniffed it once and declined to even try it. So I'm not sure how picky eaters will react to it. I can mostly say that it was an ok food, we used the whole bag, and it wasn't unreasonably priced. It just didn't do anything noticeable as far as improving his skin and coat.

I've had my dog on this food for 5 years and she's perfectly healthy. There is no reason dogs need to eat meat.

I have 2 dogs with allergies - one has very sever allergies and this food really helps. Plus - they love it!!! And - it is less expensive than many other vegetarian dog food products on the market. So a big win all around.
