I'm 32, a dedicated, unashamed carnivore, unathletic, bon-vivant, borderline alcoholic and yes, after 14 years of treating my body as if it were the top end of a beer bong, I knew I needed to flush the pipes.
First off... this isn't the type of thing you can just accept at the door when the UPS man gets to you and start going to town, so don't even think about it. You have to prepare yourself, mind, body and soul for everything that this entails. I started decreasing my intake of food about a week before I started (actually started adjusting the day that I ordered it). Cut out processed foods first, eventually going to steamed rice and veggies, then for my final meal, a medium sized fruit salad (actually laughed to myself as I scarfed down fruit for dinner).
I began the cleanse late the first evening to give the products a chance to work their way through my system as I slept. You have to scarf down ALOT of pills first off. I'm talking ALOT.. and I used to be a raver, so I know what alot of pills looks like. I made the decision to go with the juice fasting option and chose to mix the fiber with Green Machine by Naked Juice based upon some other reviews I read (I substituted Odwalla a few times when Naked Juice was unavailable). Mixing the fiber with juice made it not terribly bad.
The first full day was my most wretched. I got a headache out of this world and felt sluggish. I was off that day, so I could enjoy being miserable in the comfort of my own home. "Eliminations" were substantial, but nothing to write home about on the first day.
Second day, this was where the fun began... Took some substantial "eliminations" and urinated what I would felt could be enough liquid to fill a Kindergarten swimming pool.
Third day, more substantial "eliminations"... I'm sure we've excavated my intestines back to at least the fourth grade level at this point. Got really, really hungry in the early evening and started to crave strange foods.
Fourth day, I think I was eliminating stuff I was fed from a Gerber bottle at this stage. I was amazed at what was still coming out despite not having anything to eat. Strange cravings continued.. (Mmm.. Bread and butter)
Fifth day was a piece of cake. Looked forward to having steamed rice and broccoli. I notice that my sense of smell and taste is really sharp now. I could taste the garlic in the Green Machine and had never tasted it before.
The CraveLess pills are phenomenal. I want to buy them on their own... kind of like Morphine for the appetite. The moment that they would start wearing off you could feel the effects in your appetite. I visably lost weight during the cleanse that I would like to keep off through eating better as a daily routine while still enjoying the joie d'vivre as a splurge. All in all, I felt much more mentally sharp and lighter as the days wore on. And who knows... I may continue having fruit for dinner from time to time...
