Just be patient - they will love it,

This review is from: Nature's Variety Freeze Dried Cat and Dog Food, Diet Chicken and Turkey Medallions, 12 Ounce Bag (Misc.)
I purchased this product quite some time ago for my older cat - who initially wouldn't touch it. Not dry, not wet - just turned up his nose. I gave up and put it in a cupboard and forgot about it....till I got a new kitten. My new kitty eats raw chicken as a treat; one night he was howling for some and I didn't have enough to share (I was making it for my own dinner!) and I remember this stuff. Pulled it out of the cupboard, broke it up, added water and he went nuts. Won't even touch his other food at this point - love these things. Could put the whole bag away if I let him....and funnily enough, my older cat, after watching the kitten happily scarf away, has finally decided he likes them too. The increase in his activity level and general wellbeing after just a week of eating these is amazing. I strongly recommend this product - you just have to give your kitty time to get used to it as it is a different smell and taste then they've probably ever eaten.

Finally - Convenient Dehydrated RAW PET FOOD,

I had to find a healthy alternative to the Processed Cat Foods for my cat who lost HALF his Body Weight and became diabetic. {even the more expensive Prescription Iams dry food helped cause/exacerbate his diabetes}
After Reading Dr. Pitcairn's Book [See 1st Link Below], we immediately switched him to a Raw Food Diet/Plan. We bought lbs of organic never-frozen ground chicken breast [(from Sprouts Farmers Market (Grocery)], also Chicken Livers (no hormones). We then mixed it all with Instincts TC [See 2nd Link Below], and froze it in ice cube trays. Thats what his main diet is (a replicate of the Mouse), but He CLEARLY NEEDED "DRY" Food to Snack on when he gets hungry while we are sleeping or away for the work day. This has been a BLESSING- VERY Convenient in Dehydrated Medallions (small-medium size). The Ingredients are SOOO WHOLESOME!!! I would myself, eat all in the ingredients. Better yet -- My cat has gotten to LOVE them!! Although, to be honest the entire illness and switch of diet has been very difficult with picky eating cats (we have been slowly switching the sick cat's brothers & sisters]; but I read the little blurbs of advice from Feline-Future (link below), and just stuck strong while making sure my cat didnt starve -- which meant a lot of force feedings until he learned to love both of them! Very Humanely, of course: Pet your Cat and give him love while talking to him. GENTLY guide his nose/mouth UPWARDS as your petting him (this way he quickly swallows the food without spitting it up with his head down!). Spoon the raw food into the cats mouth, and sometimes I had to gently encourage him to close his mouth (to swallow) by petting him. Its All About TLC!! (Tender Loving Care) My cat will come RUNNING when he hears the Silver Bag Crinkle! He can barely wait for me to cut up the medallion into about 4 pieces (with kitchen scissors), and will try to muzzle into my hands! As much as he loves his main raw mixed food, he JUST CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS FREEZE DRIED RAW FOOD. My cat is very expensive (but its probably equivalent to Western Medicines Surgeries/Treatments). ITS SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!! After 3 months of s struggle getting his weight up after his diagnosis, our Vet was glad to tell us that he has progressed much faster than expected and has "turned a remarkable corner" in his weight & blood levels!!!!!!! I Honestly Believe that the KEY to his Recovery was this last boost of introducing these Chicken Medallions. From Then ON he could Eat HEALTHY RAW food WHENEVER HE WANTED TO -- thats NOT MESSY and can be left out on his plate for the day or overnight while staying fresh (its dehydrated!!). Because he was able to eat by himself overnight while we slept, also he munched on the dehydrated food in between his scheduled raw food feedings!!! so it REALLY HELPED him get up his weight Healthy with the Right Nutrition!!! I Definitely Suggest This Product to ANYONE OUT THERE with a Cat/Dog. My cat is so much happier now, he feels better - I can tell by his more shiny/soft coat, his clear eyed, his more-often and stronger purr, and his newly re-found spunk/Energy!!!! Worth every single penny. {PS- the 3rd link below is full of great helpful information on HEALTHY NUTRITION for your Cat : ) GOOD LUCK!!} Dr. Pitcairn's New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats [...]

I have one picky eater and two cats who will eat just about anything... even they only picked at this food. I tried offering it to them dried (broke it up with my fingers) and wet (added warm water and mixed it up). They didn't seem to recognize it as food.
It would have been a more convienient alternative to raw food, but not if they won't eat it! |
