5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent information for all - protect yourself, July 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Nature's Virus Killers (Hardcover)
As a doctor that uses natural medicines I found this book to be extremly interesting and useful. Dr. Stenger's previous book "Then Natural physician" is considered the bible of natural therapies. With "nature's virus killers" he goes into much greater detail about how viruses work and what we can do to protect ourselves from harm. I've already applied some of the suggested therapies with great success and reccomend that book to all of my patients. Bravo Dr. Stengler!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nature's Virus Killers: By: Mark Stengler, ND "The Natural Physician", September 8, 2011

This review is from: Nature's Virus Killers (Hardcover)
I would like to just quote what Mark Stengler has to say in his introduction section page 10

A common reason why some people are prone to colds is because they eat too much refined sugar in their diet. Large quantities of refined sugar are anything but a sweet deal

for your body. They rob your immune system of needed nutrients, making it unable to fend off an invasion by cold viruses. End

Mark writes about Thyroid Hormone as well in this book: Common symptoms to a low Thyroid is:

Infections, cold hands and feet, constipation, poor memory, dry skin, not able to lose weight, the list goes on which other Drs' speak about which isn't in this book.

Page 86: Oils to avoid, but I disagree with this ND about saturated fats, he says that saturated is bad fats, he has not done enough research on his fats. Saturated fats don't oxidize, where as poly and mono do oxidize (go rancid)these oils require iodine to prevent them from oxidising, this will lead to Hypothyroidism.

My advise is just do your own homework, don't always take everybodies heresay as gospel truth. On the whole Mark Stengler has a whole lot of information that is good advise, but do your research.

Kathleen
