Product Description

Nature babycare Chlorine-Free Diapers, Size 1 (8-14Ibs), 160 count

Nature Babycare Diapers are 100-percent chlorine-free and keep oil-based plastics away from babies delicate skin. Our absorbent pulp is from sustainably harvested Scandinavian forests and the patented center-channel means a less bulky fit while enhancing leak protection. Since we use 60-percent natural materials instead of plastic, our diapers are super soft and cloth-like providing comfort without sacrificing protection.

Leading the Way in Europe
Nature Babycare is a Swedish-based company founded by a pioneering mum 14 years ago who thought the world deserved a better diaper! Marlene Sandberg was appalled to learn that babies will produce half a ton of diapers every year. Half a ton! So she sought to create a range of award-winning diapers and baby products which are effective, price competitive, and --making Nature Babycare products good for both babies and the environment. We are the trusted source for baby products among consumers and the green community. Nature Babycare is leading the industry in Europe by providing mum's with a high-performance diaper that is better for their babies and the environment.

Why We're Award-Winning
Our diapers and pull-on pants are over 60-percent biodegradable in contrast to major brands which are often composed of up to 80-percent oil-based products which do not decompose easily. Conventional diapers can take hundreds of years to decompose, but because of the high content of bio-degradable material, ours break down in a fraction of that time, meaning there's less need for landfill or polluting incineration. We keep oil-based plastics away from babies delicate skin and use natural, breathable corn-based materials instead. Our patented center-channel reduces the need for bulky absorbent material while enhancing leak protection. Nature Babycare Diapers are 100-percent chlorine-free, protecting the environment by not producing harmful dioxin pollution.

All of this combined minimizes diaper rash and other irritations so that your baby is healthy and happy! With features such as stretchy tabs and leg gatherings, a soft cloth-like feel, and non-bulky absorbent pulp, we've created an award-winning diaper that performs ahead of the rest. Our founding principle was to give mum's a high performance diaper that is better for their baby and better for the environment. We strive to use renewable materials whenever possible in all of our product lines. Nature Babycare Diapers offer the convenience of disposables with the most attributes.

What Makes Us Unique
Other diapers can claim to be green but still use massive amounts of oil-based plastics. As a mum, our founder knew there had to be a better way to make diapers. That's why we've spent many years perfecting our diapers by eliminating as much non-biodegradable materials as possible while maintaining performance and comfort. We also use an absorbent pulp that is sustainably harvested out of Scandinavian forests. Our diapers are completely unbleached, contain no latex, fragrance, or TBT (tributyltin), and are hypo-allergenic.

As with any diaper, for maximum performance, when your baby reaches the upper limits of the weight class, we recommend that you switch to the next larger size.

Our philosophy is to improve our products continuously so they affect the environment as little as possible. By employing innovative solutions, the aim is to use as much natural and renewable materials in our products without losing out on performance. * To reduce the amount of harmful chemicals in the diapers, Naty by Nature Babycare uses a GM Free corn starch film as a leakage barrier, made according to the highest industry quality standards. This film is fully compostable (OK compost certification no S325) and as effective as plastic with added health benefits. The GM Free corn starch film used as a leakage barrier replaces traditional plastics mainly used on the market, but remains as effective and watertight. But unlike plastic, it is compostable and “breathes”, allowing air to reach the baby’s delicate skin, resulting in an airier, drier and more comfortable diaper, thus causing less irritation. The film also naturally keeps harmful bacteria and pathogens out. Naty by Nature Babycare diapers are also 100% Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) and perfume free. Just another way Naty has reduced the amount of chemicals coming in contact with your baby’s sensitive skin. We use only totally chlorine free (TCF) pulp in our diapers, which is a technique that uses no chlorine compounds for the bleaching of wood pulp. This prevents the formation of dioxins, highly carcinogenic pollutants within the product.

These disposables make choosing something a bit better for the environment easy and convenient. The bugs we ran into were as follows: (1) Improved quality control needed - several diapers in one of the packages weren't sealed fully, so the filling leaked out a bit. On those or others, the tabs were sometimes stuck to the diaper improperly so that we had to separate them so the diaper could close fully; (2) Our daughter is tall and slender, so the leg holes gap a bit and if she urinates or passes a bowel movement while on her side it will sometimes leak. This is more of an issue with urine.

At the same time, I have been impressed with the way they absorb, and we have only had one real blow out.

I first bought these diapers in the UK. The weights listed on the packs differ for each size from the US ones.
i.e UK size 2 = 6-13lbs UK size 3 = 9-20lbs
US size 2 = 12-18lbs US size 3 = 16-28lbs

Despite the difference in weights listed, US and UK size 3 ARE EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE!!

My 10lb and 12lb twins had size 3 in UK, great fit, one or two poopy leaks (up the back) when I didn't close the diaper tightly enough. Otherwise wonderful diapers. (They feel damp when they are extremely full, but they do not make the clothes damp.) Because the diapers have such great performance, and are the BEST ECO option available bc of the breathability and the 60% biodegradable contents, I bought some in the US.

Now home, using the US sizing guidelines, I bought US size 2. They fit my smaller twin perfectly, but don't hold enough for the nighttime, and have continual leaks. Very tired of using stain remover on baby clothes. Also, I felt that they are much to small for my 12lb twin. She's chubby, but not that much.

I now have some US size 3. I held it up against my last remaining UK size 3 diaper, pulled it open, put them every which way. The US and UK size 3 are exactly the same. They fit both my twins perfectly. HOORAY!

For those who are disappointed in the sizing, check for "correct" weight guides.

I was so excited to find a disposable diaper that was chlorine-free and made from biodegradable materials! And at a price comparable to Huggies Naturals. But I was quickly disappointed in the fit. The closure tabs have absolutely NO stretch in them at all. I started with Size 1 when my daughter was about 10 - 11 pounds. The closure tabs left marks on her hips. She's now about 13lbs, and I just bought the size 2, which lists 12 - 18lbs. They are no better. Very tight around the hips and leave red marks. I can only find these online, and they come in 4 packs. It is a hassle to exchange them through the mail. The most recent ones I got on an auction website, which makes it even harder. So, I end up with over 100 diapers that don't fit. I would most definitely keep buying these diapers if they could improve the elasticity in the closure tabs. They may fit a very skinny baby just fine, but if your baby has any pudge around the middle, they will be too small. I suggest buying a size up.

These are great diapers. I've tried Earth Best, Huggies Pure & Natural, Seventh Generation and Whole Foods brand, and so far these are my favorite. I know there are more natural brands out there, but those are out of my price range unfortunately.
Now the IMPORTANT stuff. Based on the reviews, I went a size higher than needed. So for a baby that used size 2 I ordered size 3. Oh well, the diapers were way too big. So then I placed another order for size 2 and they were identical in size as Seventh Generation diapers I was using at that time. So the company must have changed their sizing and I believe you no longer need to order a different size.
However, when I was about to run out of these diapers and my subscription shipment was not due for another week, I placed an order for size 2 sold by Amazon's Warehouse deals. This was suppose to be an open box item in like new condition. When it arrived, I noticed that the packaging was different and when I compared these "open box" diapers with new ones I still had, the "open box" were a size smaller. So be careful with Warehouse Deals diapers, because I guess they are selling the older model.

My baby was born at just under 6 lbs. Initially, these newborn diapers didn't fit. I had to use the Seventh Generation Newborn diapers, which were still a tad big. By week 2, the Naty diapers fit great. However, as we got into week 3, I noticed that the diapers couldn't hold big pees or excessive liquid. My baby would wake up in the night fussy with a wet diaper that had soaked through to her clothes and/or blanket. I'm not upset, since that is the point of biodegradable diapers. However, I wouldn't use them for much longer after the newborn stage. When you're getting up every 2-3 hours to feed a newborn anyway, they work great.

In about half a dozen packages, I did get one defective diaper with only one tab. Otherwise, I've been pleased with this purchase and would recommend them for those interested in eco diapers. We will be transitioning to cloth diapers when babe is big enough.
