Fun and tasteful adult cake ideas. I purchased it for my husband who's a pastry chef and he loves it. Plus, it gives good tips on how to make people.

Yes the designs are fun and gorgeous albeit mostly for advanced decorators but the cake recipes at the beginning of the book are not tasty at all. When I do make the cakes I use my own recipes and they come out tasting as good as they look. AS a cake designer my foremost priority is to make cakes that not only look good but are delcious too. They're equally important in my opinion. This book is all about the look. That's not a big handicap if you've got recipe files of sure-fire delicious cakes. But for beginners who may need details about what cakes are good for carving, which cakes for stacking, etc, they may not have the option of substituting better recipes.

Still I would recommend this book if only for the ideas and step by step techniques for creating naughty yet classy cakes.

Nice selection of 'naughty cakes' but for the more advanced cake decorator.

Recently I purchased Naughty Cakes, Xtra Naughty Cakes and Seriously Naughty Cakes by Debbie Brown. As of date I haven't attempted to make any of the cakes featured however they seem do-able with her step-by-step guides. The biggist complaint I have is that all the books feature the exact same cakes! Minues maybe one unique one for each book. I brought these books together as Amazon recommended them as frequently brought together. Seriously Naughty Cakes has all the cakes from the other two books and it is a waste of money to buy all three of these. One book would have done the trick. Overall I'm happy with the book and can't wait to make some Naughty Cakes!

Format: Hardcover
This fantastic new book contains an irresistible collection of 19 great cakes, each with a wicked sense of humour. The original and imaginative designs range from cakes which are quick and simple to create, such as the cheeky boob cakes, to more elaborate designs with moulded characters, such as the hunky firemen with their fire engine or the Roly Poly Strip-o-gram. Each cake has clear instructions and step-by-step photographs, as well as a photograph of the finished cake, showing you just how easy it is to create these fabulous cakes. In addition, a section at the beginning of the book has basic recipes for cakes, buttercream, icing and sugarpaste, as well as some essential techniques. With cakes that are guaranteed to liven up any occasion and that will appeal to both men and women, Naughty Cakes is the perfect cake decocrating book for anyone with a sense of humour.

Be aware that Seriously Naughty Cakes provides all of the exact same information and designs that are included in both Naughty Cakes and Xtra Naughty Cakes. It is simply a rebinding of the other two books. Don't waste your money on this book but get Seriously Naughty Cakes instead to get more for your money.
