This book is read by a voice that is shrill and penetrating. I persevered through the first CD - why is this reader so bad, what is the plot anyway, why am I wasting my time like this? Once the second CD started playing, and the reader blathered on about "an attack of conscious," I woke up and ejected the CD.

This is one of the worst audio CD books I've ever tried to listen to. I'll be quite happy to return it to the library on Monday.

I put a wonderful Debbie Macomber book into the slot instead, and continued driving, listening to a mellow book, well read, with a good plot.

I was disappointed in this book. Although it was humorous at times, the main characters were annoying. Part of the problem could have been that I listened to the audio version and the narrator was such a ham. She overacted and her reading was so over the top, it was extremely annoying.

Enjoyable to listen to. I have a 40 minutes drive to work and I looked forward to what was going to happen next. Sometimes I would like to just stay in my car and keep listening.

Janet Evanovich is such a hoot of an author and even her earlier books, such as this one is, showed her talant off. They're always a joy to read and as my first time listening to one of her books, a hoot to listen to. Even with the romance, my husband enjoyed it while on our trip.

We purchased this CD at Amazon.com for our long ride from Michigan to California. The story was very good and kept us laughing the whole book. If you want something light to listen to while driving, this would be a good choice.

I got this book as an audio book based on customer feedback about the author and this book specifically. I was a little disappointed in the story line. I expected more of a fun mystery/thriller with a small love story and ending up getting a cheesy love story with a C- mystery.

The audio version of this book was truly the worst I have heard. I have listened to many books as audio versions that were read much better in 'painting a picture'.

I probably wont read another book by this author.

This book was great. It had suspense, love, hate, all in all a great story line. Loved it alot, and will listen to it several times.

If you are a Janet Evanovich fan you won't be disappointed. If you have never experienced Janet Evanovich, this is a good place to start. It's funny and highly entertaining as always. Buy it and enjoy. Highly recommend!

Typical of the Evanovich I've read, you take a simple boy meets girl scenario and throw in a bunch of eccentric characters and wacky situations. It was entertaining. But I would've preffered to have read about the "fall out" from the Great Pig Caper. But alas, you never find out how that part closed out. The narrator had a good voice for all the different parts.

I would say the the book is OK, but I much prefer her "One for the money" series
