Naughty but Nice Cross Stitch

I must have misunderstood what this book contained. I was expecting patterns with curse words and possibly other "naughty" words or images. I should have looked more closely at the image pages.

If I can compare this book to something to explain the level of "naughtiness," I'd have to compare it to a Cathy comic. Seriously, that's about as naughty as it gets. Think frazzled ladies with cute sayings.

Also, I looked through the book 3 times and could not find a pattern for "$@%$^!" (or similar "cuss" characters).

I'm returning the book.

Being a somewhat young (27 year old) stitcher I thought this book would be more fun than it is. I wasn't overly thrilled with the menopausal patterns nor "reduce your carbon footprint- wear stillettos". This isn't the book for me.

This book does have some cute sayings. It's nice to have them all in one book to go to when looking for such things. Will be fun to stitch up a few for my close friends. I'm sure it will bring a smile to their faces.

I was looking for something that was a little more edgy, maybe even snide. I have "Subversive Cross Stitch," which I enjoy quite a lot; but in this, I was hoping for something a little closer to "Subversive CS," but minus some of the colorful language. Not quite what I hoped for...

I love this cross stitch book. I have done about four of them already and can't wait to do more. I wish there were more cross stitchs books like this one.

This is a great book-it has some really funny saying, and you get the pattern for @*%$!#? (I'm not cussing!). The patterns are easy to read and she gives you tips on the various uses that can be used for each. Of course, all of them are worth framing. I haven't had a chance to do any of them yet. I bought this book in hopes of seeing something different and cool enough to start back stitching. I feel like I really have.
It the back, there is a list of what else she's done, either alone or in David and Charles books. She apparently worked on the design team at DMC for a whle, before going out on her own. I think that the book "Picture You Pet in Cross Stitch" will be the next one I buy-I hope I can find a seller on Amazon that carries it-I love Amazon. I always come here first when looking for just about everything.
She is definatly worth looking at, especially if you want something new and funny. Give this book a look!

The projects are fun and easy to complete with step by step directions for making up. The designs in this book are great quick projects to give as gifts!

My friends will be getting stuff from this for both christmas and birthdays. Can't wait to get started on them
