3.75 stars: NAUTI ENCHANTRESS is the second storyline in Lora Leigh's contemporary, adult Nauti Girls erotic romance series-a spinoff from her successful Nauti Boys series. Some background: Six years earlier Dawg Mackay (Nauti Boys) discovered his father had another family who were suffering because of his father's past. Enter-four half sisters and their mother-and Dawg and his cousins have a new family of women to dominate and protect. This is twenty four year old Lyrica Mackay and Marine Graham Brock's story. The Nauti Girls series fast forwards Lora Leigh's NAUTI BOYS series several years with the introduction of Dawg’s extended family.

The storyline follows Graham and Lyrica as they dance around one another-the attraction between our couple is palpable but Graham has been 'threatened' by the Mackay boys if he ever touches a single hair on Lyrica's head. And it is becoming more difficult as Lyrica is Graham's sister's best friend and always at his house, and someone is now taking care to stalk and take down Lyrica. Graham is a man-whore; his parade of monthly 'flavors' threatens his future with the woman who calls to his heart and Lyrica isn't willing to become the next flavor in Graham's parlor of women and sex.

The premise follows Graham and the Mackay cousins (Rowdy, Dawg and Natches) as well as the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) as they try to uncover the people threatening Lyrica Mackay. Lyrica is in a continuous battle for her life, and her safety whenever she leaves the protective confines of the Mackay family or Graham's house. Our intrepid group of former marines and military personnel know that Graham is in love with Lyrica and ensures that Graham is the first line of defense when it comes to Lyrica's protection.

It's about time.

Lora Leigh was synonymous with great sex scenes, intense emotions and shoddy writing. The editorial gaffes and grammatical errors were legendary, making reading one of her past books painful.

Not so this one.

Well done, fast paced, great emotional angst, well-developed characters, and an on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense made Nauti Enchantress well done book and a great read.

Lyrics has loved Graham since the moment she met him 5 years earlier. Graham was in lust with her for the same amount of time. Together, they find the reason for living, for going on.

A little bit shmaltzy, a whole lot of sexy, Ms. Leigh is baaa-ack!

*Beware of possible Spoilers*

nauti-enchantress-nauti-girls-lora-leighLyrica Mackay has had a crush on former Marine, Graham Brock, since the moment she met him, when she and her sisters were brought to Somerset to live with their brother, Dawg, that they hadn’t known even existed.

Graham is also her best friend, Kye’s older brother. Kye has made it clear that Graham is off-limits stating that she will end any friendship once her friend hooks up with Graham, and she has done just that with some of the other girls she used to hang out with.

Graham is a playboy plain and simple, always with a new ‘flavor of the month’, ditzy bimbos that don’t know any better, but they give Graham whatever he needs to get through the day … or month. Little does Lyrica know the reason the flavor brigade started was to tame his hunger for her, a girl he knew he could never have!

These two were content to fight themselves to stay away from one another, each knowing the other was unobtainable. But it all changes when they get thrown together when Graham steps up to protect Lyrica when it’s clear someone is out to kill her. Is this someone trying to get back at the Mackays for some transgression of the past or something else entirely? That’s what Graham and Lyrica’s family must find out … before it’s too late!

I have read a few of Lora Leigh’s series so I knew what I was getting into with this book, with the raw carnal intimacy that is. But I had not read any of her Nauti books, and doesn’t the name of the series just scream at you what to expect within its pages? I was worried with it being the 9th Nauti book, that the story arc would be too developed for me to understand what was going on.

That first scene had me like, oh hell no. My first impression of Graham is that he is a douche if the highest order. And that pretty much set the whole tone of the book for me. I hate when the men in some sense of misplace honor screws anything that moves to forget the one he really wants. And I hate females that let the guy run over her. Lyrica's friend kind of just pimped her out to Graham saying it would keep her safe. But I just don't understand how Graham and Lyrica sleeping together will protect her more than her just staying at their house...in fact it seems more like a distraction. I hated the constant references to Graham's extremely active sex life. In reference to the women he slept with: Bimbo was said 17 times, some variation of flavor of the month 25, love bunny 6. I hated the men in this book. I love a good alpha male, but these men are controlling, manipulating men. I have read a lot of Lora Leigh books, and usually love them. But the last few have made me angry. I'm tired of the commitment-phobe men that whore around. I'm tired of the maniplation of people's lives, especially the women, as if they can't make their own decisions. The Mackay clan in the first nauti books are nowhere to be found. And instead this book is filled with characters I can't stand. Lora Leigh knows how to do heat, and do it well. But that's not all that's not all I want in a book. And unfortunately, this has all of the things I dislike in books. I felt the same way about the last breed bok I DNF. Maybe my tastes have changed, maybe her writing is tired and the same story like as all her other tens of books, but I can't do it anmymore. I may just be done with this author, or we at least need to spend some time apart.
