I struggled with this one....,

This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Nauti Boys, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
I struggled to finish this book. It seems I'm in the minority, but this was a frustrating read for me. The heroine was, well, stupid...and mean. Alex stayed at night to protect her and left during the day. Well, she thought it was because he didn't want to be seen with her. Uh, no he was trying to catch the bad guy! What even remotely struck her that Alex was the type of guy that would do that? He stood up for her in the very beginning of the book. Now he's embarrassed?? That just didn't make sense.
And in the whole book everyone seemed mean or angry all the time. Everyone was either snarling, growling, sneering or yelling. I've also always struggled with couples that were so attracted to each other physically, but don't seem to really like each other outside of the bedroom. I'm talking specifically about Janey. One minute she's snarling something at him, but he wants to have sex, oh she can't resist, let's do it. So they would have sex and then she wouldn't be angry anymore (until they moved out of the bedroom anyway). It seemed that every time they had sex, they were fighting beforehand. It shouldn't always be in anger. Another irritant was that Janey was supposed to be so submissive to her father, yet she had no problem standing up to Alex and her brother. Okay, fine, I can see how that would make sense if she decided she didn't want to be pushed around anymore. Yet she was a doormat when people said nasty stuff to her at HER restaurant. Why wouldn't she stand up for herself there? It drove me nuts and distracted me from the story. Overall this was a disappointment to me. I read the good reviews and was expecting more. I'm still looking forward to the next book and hopefully this is just a one time thing.

Even Mackay in-laws are fun!,
By steamkitty "steamkitty" (Oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Nauti Boys, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
A few months ago we left the Mackay brothers of Somerset finalizing the capture of the local terrorist Dayle Mackay, father to Natches, uncle to Rowdy and Dawg, and brother to Ray Mackay. Aside from Dayle's incestuous sister Nadine who falls to a sniper shot, the only casualty was 23-year-old Janey Mackay, Natches' baby sister, who had been drugged by her father and assaulted by her nasty Aunt Nadine and held hostage to prevent Natches from delivering the capture of Dayle, whom no one ever calls father, uncle or brother.
Now, Janey is healed, physically, and is running the local restaurant that Dayle, a surprisingly good cook for a really, really bad guy, ran as a money-laundering ploy for his now-defunct terrorist group. A target for mysterious poison pen attacks, Janey finds Alex Jansen her personal guard dog and wanna-be lover. Jansen, an older man, the sniper who did for nasty aunty, has craved the young woman since she was an off-limits tease at 17. Alex must to protect her from both the hidden attacks and the plot-required frequently unpleasant attitude of some of the townsfolk. If you have read the previous Nauti books, the usual male heroes are all back, all testosterone-laden, and the previously-encountered peripheral folks also make, sometimes surprising, appearances. The three younger Mackay men are all married now and expectant fathers, which ups their control issues, natch. The romance starts early, continues along predictable, yet enjoyable, paths, and the denouement, while not totally unexpected, does have some element of surprise. The book is another winner for Lora Leigh, an author who has several very different book concepts running concurrently, producing very well-plotted and hot novels, all of which are on my 'must buy immediately' lists.

love the nauti boys!!,

As usual, Lora Leigh does it again. Gotta love those Nauti men. I absolutely love how the males in her stories are so incredibly in love and devoted to their women. As if they can't breathe with out them. Love it! Their arrogance cracks me up sometimes. Its comical how they try and control their mates sometimes and just fail. Although the plot was not all that complicated in this particular book, it still had some suspense and TONS of passion.
I like having the characters from previous and future stories involved in each book. Keeps us updated and also anticipating the upcoming stories. Looking forward to Zeke and Rogue's story. There's a fiery pair if I ever saw one! Great story. Enjoy!!

Alex Jansen and Janey Mackay definitely have something naughty going on in NAUTI INTENTIONS, Lora Leigh's fourth NAUTI BOYS installment. If Janey's brother Natches finds out what they are doing: there will be major heck to pay. Amazingly, that threat doesn't even slow these lovers down.
Alex Jansen is too old and jaded for the likes of Janey Mackay, the younger sister of one of his best friends. Alex knows he is too old, but that doesn't stop him from dreaming and lusting after one tiny little vixen named Janey Mackay. When Janey was drugged by her father and then subsequently threatened by her aunt, Alex thought his heart would stop before he would be able to rescue her. And rescue her he did, and when the smoked cleared, one thing was certain - Janey Mackay was going to be his - no matter what Natches, his family, or even Janey herself had to say about it. Alex has waited long enough, and the intentions he has towards Janey are anything but honorable, and to be honest, they are quite naughty. Because of her abusive father and the control he had over her, Janey Mackay has had no choice but to sit back and watch Alex Jansen almost her entire life. She has loved him for so long she can't even remember when she didn't. However, just because she loves him doesn't mean she is willing to take what he gives her without him loving her back. She isn't willing to settle for handouts - she's earned the right to be independent. But when threats starting coming in, she loses some of that hard won independence when Alex decides he is sticking to her like glue until the danger passes. Janey can only hope that when he is done with her, she will be able to survive with her memories. Lora Leigh's writing skills and innate ability to weave a love story leave me speechless every single time I finish reading and close one of her books. NAUTI INTENTIONS is such a book. I met Alex Jansen in NAUTI NIGHTS, he is Dawg's brother in law, and since then I have been fixated on this alpha male character. Alex is in the armed services and tough as nails. He is not willing to put up with fools, nor is he willing to allow his woman to be in harm's way. "His way or the high way" came to mind more than once reading this enticing book, but it worked for me. He was fiercely protective without smothering and dangerous when threatened. Alex and his sinfully wicked sensuality made me blush more than once but kept me enthralled. Janey Mackay brought out the mothering instinct in me. She had to fight her entire life to suppress her feelings in order to protect her loved ones. Watching Janey blossom from a shy, innately quiet woman to the vixen in love with, and willing to take a chance on, Alex Jansen just made me happy and swooning in anticipation of their love scenes. NAUTI INTENTIONS is my favorite NAUTI BOYS book to date. Readers will be sighing at the love and often times comedic antics of Janey as she tries to bend Alex to her will. I am not sure if that ever happened, but one thing is for certain, their journey was worth every single minute of the time they spent together. Passionate, boldly provocative, and yes, rather naughty - NAUTI INTENTIONS is a must read! Lora Leigh's got another winner on her hands and I am looking forward already to the next installment, NAUTI DECEPTIONS. Natalie S.

31 yr old pervs on teenager,
This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Nauti Boys, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
I agree with P. Coates about all of the things she disliked about the book. But, anymore, when you read Lora Leigh you're pretty much getting erotica, not a good story. I accept this with her and have pretty much stopped reading her books out there as a result. There are enough authors who can combine steam and story without the growling, snarling and overblown characters. I picked this one up knowing there were things I would roll my eyes at but Alex was my favorite character in the other books so I wanted to try his story.
Frankly, I didn't get very far. I can't believe she coupled him with someone so young. Ewww. 14 yr age difference is not hot or sexy to me. And to say he's been pervin' on her since she was 17 grosses me out. Why not someone from his own generation and let he and Janey have their own individual stories? Preferably putting off Janey's until she grows up a little. What a disappointment.

When Nauti is NICE!,
This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Nauti Boys, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
Janey Mackay, daughter of a traitor and sister to a patriot, has returned to her small hometown where she has been ostracized and condemned for her family connections by the community, while at the same time struggles with the feeling of being an outsider and tries to establish a relationship with her family and gain acceptance from those she loves.
By managing the restaurant her father owned she hopes to gain the freedom and independence previously denied her, when a stalker threatens her very existence. When the danger to her is discovered Janey chooses Alex as her protector. Alex has secretly been lusting after Janey for years, but out of respect for her brother Natches, and his apprehension about their age difference, he has resisted these urges. Emotional conflicts, unknown danger, and steamy passion ensue. Lora Leigh does not disappoint in this newest installment of the Nauti Boys series. It has all of the elements of a great romantic suspense novel, though it is categorized as an erotic romance. The reader gets updates into the lives of the characters introduced in previous titles, while telling Janey and Alex's story. The book contains many emotional, steamy, sexy and scorching hot love scenes, with the perfect blend of intrigue, and suspencefully dangerous moments that makes this a late into the night, bleary-eyed for work the next day, sad to see it end, can't wait for the next one page turner. If you can't tell, I LOVED it! The only downfall is that we the readers have to wait until 2010 for the next book, Nauti Deceptions :( Read more of my reviews [...]

Please tell me there are more relatives hidden somewhere! These guy's scorch the pages of Lora Leighs books. Alex, while technically not a Mackay, ends up the love interest of a Mackay. Luckily he is cut from the same cloth as the other guys in this series. Highly recommend this story!

Nauti Intentions,
This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Nauti Boys, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
Janey Mackay spent her childhood pretending to be what she wasn't just to keep her brother safe from punishment. When she finally escaped to college everyone thought she might be safe, finally, but then her father tricked her, drugged her and she was left with a nightmare that just would not go away. Janey really wants to believe she is finally worth love and in her dreams, she sees just the right person to give it.
Alex Jansen was the person who got Janey out of her nightmare only to be given one of his own as Alex learned exactly what happened that night. Alex has wanted Janey for many years and has known the entire time that not only is he too old for her, but that her brother would kill him on the first touch. But right now that doesn't seem to matter as much. As the town seems to believe the worse about Janey and doesn't care who knows, especially if it's Janey herself, Alex is placed in a position to become very close to her indeed. Someone is out to kill Janey and with the help of the Mackay boys, Alex is going to keep her not only safe but also his forever. A madman is coming too close for comfort and is playing a game of show and tell that is becoming deadly. Too bad no one wants to play by the madman's terms. Extremely intense. Nauti Intentions brings Janey and Alex up close and very personal. Janey is determine to have at least one of her dreams come true, even if it's just making the restaurant a success. Alex knows better than to want Janey, however he is past really caring what the rest of the Mackays will think. When Janey and Alex finally do come together it is past time and very hot, steamy and erotic. My heart just broke for Janey and I was cheering as Alex stood up to everyone - including Janey. Nothing is against the rules between them, the key words are trust, honesty and most important what feels good. Ms. Leigh has given yet another Mackay that forever love which was just beyond the fingertips. Nauti Intentions is so full of erotic passion, just reading it will make you hot, bothered and maybe wanting to be a bit naughty yourself. I suggest having a cold drink handy - just in case. I'm counting the days until Zeke and Rogue have their story, the next Nauti novel. Jo Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Nauti Intentions,

Janey Mackay lived in virtual isolation for most of her life until the day she was finally rescued. She internalized all the pain and loneliness until it appeared that nothing fazed her. Now that she was back in Somerset, she desperately wants to build a life for herself. She barely knows her brother Natches although he has protected her most of her life. She didn't have any real friends, and her hearts desire Alex Jansen always seems just out of her reach. Janey is determined to make a success of the family restaurant, and start her life if only the residents of this small town will let her. There isn't a day that goes by without her hearing her name scandalized. No one will let her live down the sins of her father.
Alex has wanted Janey for years. He has been her protector throughout the years at a distance, and even then at her young age, he knew he had to possess her. When he was wounded in the line of duty, he knew in his head that he was coming home to heal, but in his heart he knew he was coming home to claim Janey. Alex knew they shouldn't be together. She was only 23 years old, and he felt too old for her at 37. Her brother was his comrade as well as a friend. All the Mackay's were his friends, and while he could think of a million reasons why it was a bad idea for he and Janey to be together, he was home for her. Natches didn't know Janey, and felt like his chances were slipping away when she became involved with Alex. He was afraid for her because Alex didn't believe in forever, and that is no less than she deserved. Alex also shared his extreme sexual tastes, and that is something a brother never wants to think about. Natches just wants her to be happy, and to stay near him, so they can become the family they never were able to be before. When one of the good citizens of Somerset decides that a traitor shouldn't be living amongst them, all the Mackay's and Alex rally to Janey's defense. As the attacks escalate and invade the fragile relationship between Alex and Janey, Alex realizes he is willing to lay everything on the line for the woman that has become part of his soul. Another excellent installment in the Nauti series! While I really loved the story of Janey and Alex, it adds so much more to the enjoyment of the book that the rest of the gang we have gotten to know so well are all involved. We get to laugh out loud as the ultra alpha Rowdy, Dawg, and Natches try power plays on their wives Kelly, Crista, and Chaya usually failing in their efforts. This is a very well written book with strong multi faceted characters, suspense, and raw "Nauti" passion. This is one not to be missed!!
