This review is from: Nauti Nights (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
When Dawg Mackay has his mind set on something, nothing can stand in his way. Right now, his mind is dead set on having Crista Jansen any way he wants her. Lucky Crista.

Dawg has wanted his friend's younger sister for years - years during which she has done nothing but run from him, much to his frustration. Now he has her right where he wants her and he isn't above blackmailing her into his life.

Crista has loved Dawg for years, but one mistake years ago stands between them. It was a night he doesn't remember, but one she can never forget...

Lora Leigh describes her hero in the second book of the Nauti Trilogy as `hard core' and Dawg Mackay has absolutely no trouble at all living up to that description - much to my utter delight! I have hungered for his story since I read the previous book in the series, Nauti Boy, and will say without reservation that Nauti Nights surpassed my expectations, which were pretty darn high to begin with.

Crista is the epitome of the Lora Leigh heroine - strong, soft, intrepid, caring, and with a bit of tragedy in her past that simultaneously makes her stronger and also serves as an obstacle to her relationship with the man she loves.

Dawg is just IT. So Alpha-male he will make your knees wobbly, he is not without a degree of sensitivity - well, in his own dominant way, of course! LOL There are times he does things that make you want to just throttle him, and you keep watching for Crista to do just that, but the omniscient view the reader enjoys makes his domineering manner a little easier to take, since we know all along that the man's heart is definitely in the right place.

As Nauti Nights ends, the author leaves us with a teaser guaranteed to leave fans panting for the next book in the Nauti Trilogy, but more than satisfied with the happy ending she crafts for Crista and Dawg. Carrying readers through a roller coaster of emotions - love, lust, sadness, happiness, and more, Nauti Nights is a perfect example of everything I love about Lora Leigh's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT!! HOT!! HOT!!, November 9, 2007

This review is from: Nauti Nights (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
What a great read!! I just finished, and loved this book just as much as the first.

As always the writing was good and the characters well developed. I think each book brings them to a higher level, and we understand them more. I like that all these characters have such a long history between them. It really adds another element to all of them and the story.

The only thing that I hope changes in the next book is for Kelly, Rowdy, Dawg, and Crista to be a little more involved in Natches story. Since Natches, Rowdy, and Dawg grew up like brothers, it would be great for them to have a little more interaction. Just a very minor criticism.

I can hardly wait until the next book comes out in the summer. A must have and a keeper!

After a night of drunken passion that Crista can't forget and Dawg only remembers in bits and pieces (assuming it's a fantasy), Crista flees his bed when he mentions that she'll be great in the foursome with his cousins. After discovering that she's pregnant, then miscarries, she decides to leave town for 8 years with a friend. But when Crista returns home and manages to get mixed up in an ATF sting operation, Dawg gives her a choice; be his sex slave or go to jail. Knowing she's innocent doesn't seem to matter since Dawg has been infatuated with her for years. As he and his cousins investigate why she's been targeted, she complies with his every whim (of course putting up a little fight). When a bomb makes mincemeat out of her car, she decides that maybe fighting Dawg is foolish, considering she's also infatuated with him. But will that be enough to keep them together, and keep the rest of his family out of their bedroom?

Hay carumba! I got a lot of grief for reading this from my friends just from the title and cover art. After reading such fantastic reviews, I was sure that it would be a stellar read. It wasn't really - at least not if you are looking for a plot to go with the numerous sexual passages which gets very redundant after awhile. It's hot, but where's the plot? Crista's doormat personality and Dawg's caveman possessiveness gets pretty annoying also, and the mystery is pretty non-existent - I guessed the baddie from the start since the author didn't really provide any other possible suspects or red herrings. The only characters that stood out for me were Alex, who barely made an appearance yet still was an interesting character, and Natches, the unattached cousin who'll no doubt star in the next novel. He added a lot of humor to a story that elicited many other laughs that probably weren't intentional. I'll probably check Natches story out just to give Leigh the benefit of doubt, but this book will be featured in my next garage sale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies!, November 5, 2007

This review is from: Nauti Nights (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Crista Jenson is in the wrong place at definitely the wrong time. Trying to locate a box of items she had shipped to town when she moved back home, she is stunned to discover a warehouse full of bad guys and even meaner enforcement officers. Men are screaming, bullets are flying, and the biggest surprise of all comes in the very virile and devastatingly handsome visage of Dawg Mackay, town bad boy and secret DEA agent. Dawg gets Crista out of harm's way and in doing so gives her an ultimatum she can't very well refuse.

Dawg Mackay doesn't know why Crista Jenson is in the warehouse during a DEA sting but he is going to find out if he has to kidnap her to get answers. And kidnap her he does. He takes her to his boat, the one place he calls home. There Dawg demands answers; answers Crista is unable to give. Since she isn't talking there is just one thing for Dawg to do. He is going to make sure she sticks to him like glue and if he has to keep her on his boat, then so be it.

Passions flare and sparks fly. Crista and Dawg circle each other warily until the chemistry between them builds to an excruciating need. Giving in to their desires, the two come together in blazing heat. Feelings long denied are uncovered and these two lovers have no choice but to surrender to what their hearts demand - love each other as completely and as naughty as they can.

NAUTI NIGHTS is the second book of Lora Leigh's Nauti series and proves to be exactly as the title alludes. Nauti to the core, Dawg Mackay is hardcore and refuses to apologize for his ways. Investigating missing weapons and possible illegal links to Crista, Dawg does what he thinks best. And his best is hot enough to scorch the pages of this book. Virile, sexy and downright lusty, Dawg tops my list of "bitable" men. The man can ratchet up the heat in this book with one searing look. Crista with her sassy attitude and witty banter is no slouch when it comes to standing up to Dawg. She baits and taunts the forceful hero, and the reader is left holding her breath waiting to see who wins the next round. In my opinion, they both do.

Grab the ice before picking up this book! And give yourself plenty of time for an engrossing read, because once you start, you won't set it down before the final word. Lora Leigh, being the prolific author that I have come to love and adore, has just whetted my appetite for more. The third book of this Nauti series, Natches' story, is due to be released next year.

NAUTI NIGHTS releases from Berkley in November. If book one, Nauti Boy, has not been read, I would recommend reading prior to NAUTI NIGHTS. It is not required but you won't want to miss a single scene in the lives of these extremely naughty men.

I have to say Ms. Leigh hit the story right on. I was captivated by Crista and Dawg from the first page. The fact that Crista was strong enough to walk away from him had me on the edge of my seat. I thought this was better than the first story Nauti Boy. I just liked Dawg better.
I hope that Natches story will be as captivating as Dawg's.
If you like Lora Leigh, Nauti Nights is a must read.
This book is a keeper and I will read it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Brilliant Book From Lora, November 13, 2007
This review is from: Nauti Nights (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
The passion grips you all the way through. Dawg is so Alpha with a capital A, that you can imagine that what he has within his pants he could uproot trees with. This is a great book, even my husband liked it. The characters are so real and meaty, I can't praise it enough. I also liked the first book of the series and also Lora's Forbidden Pleasure. I need a shower now to cool off. I have to admit that I am a relative newcomer to Lora's work, but I can see that her output is prolific and will keep me entertained for some time to come. On another tack, if you like steamy sex and passion in a short story format, check out Suzie Van Aartman's 100 Percent Erotica what it lacks in literary gloss, it more than makes up for raw eroticism.

I am a big fan of Lora Leigh books and this book is the second book in the Nauti trilogy. Dawg lives up to his name and the sex is smoking hot between him and Crista. Crista has always loved Dawg and he has always been fascinated with her, but when he can't remember making love to her after a night of drinking she runs away from him. When she returns, the fireworks begin and Crista and Dawg are drawn into a situation that involves Homeland
Security, and betrayal. Lora Leigh is the best at combining the sexiest love scenes with interesting plot content.

2.0 out of 5 stars James "Dawg" Mackay and Crista Ann Jansen, August 8, 2009

This review is from: Nauti Nights (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
At the end of the first book in the series Nauti Boy (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 1), James "Dawg" Mackay went to Crista Ann Jansen's house he spoke of killing someone for her and the deal they made. The second book in the series Nauti Nights (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 2) starts 8 years in the past on the night that he took her virginity and got her pregnant - she lost the baby after 3 months. Then the book moves to current date, Crista is in a warehouse being shot at while the ATF agents are raiding it. Surprise Dawg shoots XXX and keeps Crista's name out of it so that she isn't arrested - the deal she's his for the summer or she can belong to the federal government.

The Mackay cousins are related to the August brothers from the Men of August series (Marly's Choice, Sarah's Seduction (Men of August, Book 2), Heather's Gift (Men of August, Book 3) and the novella August Heat from this book The Twelve Quickies of Christmas Vol 1), and they had once shared their woman but not anymore.

I didn't like this story as much as Nauti Boy (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 1) - the background plot seemed forced and sometimes things didn't line up. The writing was not up to Lora Leigh normal level. But if like the series I wouldn't miss this opportunity to read about Dawg and Crista.

The books in the series are:
Nauti Boy - Douglas "Rowdy" Mackay and Kelly Salyers.
Nauti Nights - James "Dawg" Mackay and Crista Ann Jansen.
Nauti Dreams (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 3) Natches Mackay and Chaya Dane.
Nauti Intentions (Nauti Boys, Book 4) Janey Mackay and Alex Jansen
Nauti Deceptions Ezekiel "Zeke" Mayes and Rogue - Coming Feb 2, 2010
Nauti Kisses - Release TBD
