5.0 out of 5 stars Soft Cotton and Great Weight
I bought this to use as my summer comforter after purchasing lower end "temporary fixes." The quality is great. The cotton is very soft and edges/detailing seems very well stiched.

I was happy to feel that the weight is appropriate for a summer night in Indiana (we use the a/c and keep it at about 72 at night with a fan). Even with a/c the night can be...

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't sweat in your sleep!!!
I purchased the entire Nautica "West End" collection for my teenage sons room. I loved the plush soft feel and the colors were just perfect. How ever, I began to notice the top of the comforter was discolored after about 6 months. So I washed it, again..no change. So I flipped the top to the bottom..within several months the same thing happened. I can only attribute...

The king size was excellent - by far the most generous king size comforter we have gotten. On a queen bed the edges fall about 3 feet on both sides and 1.5 for the ned of the bed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great comforter!, August 13, 2007

I was very happy with my purchase of this comforter. It is made very well and you can tell that it is high quality and not a cheapie. My favorite thing about it is, it is very fluffy and soft. The fabric is light, not heavy and stiff. It is very comfortable!

The colors are just as shown: dark brown, light blue and an off-white/light tan color. I bought a dark chocolate brown headboard to match and painted my walls the light tan color and it looks amazing! The only thing I would suggest is don't buy the coordinating sheets. The blue color of the sheets do not match the blue color in the comforter. The sheets have more of a green/blue to it so the picture is a little misleading. Other than that, I would recommend this product to anyone!

I also wanted to comment that amazon's shipping was fast. They originally said it could be up to 10 days but it only took like 3 or 4 days. I was very impressed with my first purchase at amazon and will definately purchase from amazon again!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite comforters!!, July 25, 2009
This is the second Nautica comforter that I have purchased. I had my first one for over 3 years, and I got this pattern to replace my first one, not because it was worn out, but because I was tired of the pattern. I have had this pattern for almost 4 years now, and I am now in the market for a new pattern. I LOVE this comforter. They are very well made, I have never had any problems with either of my comforters, and they wash up really well too. They stay soft and comfy year after year. It is the perfect weight for all year long... warm in the cold winter and cool in the summer. My husband and I love our Nautica comforters and can't wait to pick out a new one. I would recommend this product to anyone, it is worth the money!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the cost!, June 22, 2009

When I purchased this comforter, I was under the impression that the high cost would mean high quality. I was terribly mistaken!

We actually bought TWO of these. The first one actually partially burned in our dryer the first time we washed it, even when following the washing instructions exactly. I was very upset, but thought maybe it was my dryer's fault.

So we bought a second one, because I loved the color and pattern so much. This time, the stitching that keeps the middle "stuffing" in place came almost completely undone in the washer (on gentle cycle!), causing it to become lumpy and uneven. So we wound up with two awful looking comforters: one with burn marks, one with lumps.

I have never, ever, had such a terrible experience with a comforter. It was a waste of several hundred dollars. Even worse, the blue colors don't even match other West End products! Our curtains, pillow covers, and shower curtain all have slightly different (but visibly noticeable) shades of blue. None of them match quite right. It was a huge disappointment.

How ever, I began to notice the top of the comforter was discolored after about 6 months. So I washed it, again..no change. So I flipped the top to the bottom..within several months the same thing happened. I can only attribute it to perspiration interacting with the dye. I have NEVER, EVER had this happen to any other comforter I have purchased for my children!! Any way, now I have to either spend $ 130.00 for the duvet cover and hope it doesn't discolor or change out his entire set. Just an FYI....I did not contact either the store or Nautica about this problem. I could not find my receipt and I had purchased the items to the set from various stores.

I like this very much. It matches the paint in my room perfectly. The comforter is very soft and warm. I used it all summer, though, and it wasn't overly warm. I just wish it repelled dog hair better!
