5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, Easy Purchase
It took only 5 days for this product to show up after I placed the order. The product arrived in 1 very large, very heavy box. It took about an hour for my wife and I to put it together. The instructions are clear enough and assembly went well. The product itself is of very high quality. We previously had bought bikes at places like Sears and Sport Authority that...

3.0 out of 5 stars Love this bike but TECHNICAL SUPPORT IS NON EXISTANT
Not a single issue with this bike, had it for almost a year and it's swell. Very comfortagble to ride while I sit in front of my TV in the AM, getting the news of the day.

I cannot say the same thing about the manual or support. Before xmas, I watited 20 minutes on hold and finally gave up. Today, I'm at 37 minutes and counting. This was not a cheap...

It took only 5 days for this product to show up after I placed the order. The product arrived in 1 very large, very heavy box. It took about an hour for my wife and I to put it together. The instructions are clear enough and assembly went well. The product itself is of very high quality. We previously had bought bikes at places like Sears and Sport Authority that sold for a few hundred dollars. Those bikes typically "wobble" when you ride them or don't provide consistent resistance. This bike is a good example of you get what you pay for. The seat is comfortable and stable. When you ride the bike stays solid. It's more like a gymn experience than what you get with a typical home exercise bike.

The programs available are varied and the display is a good one. To get something better than this you'd have to more than double the price and move up to a high volume commercial quality bike. With a commercial quality bike you'd probably see the entire machine made out of metal. (On this bike the housing of the bike parts at the bottom is set in plastic.) Perhaps you'd see a slightly better seat as well. (Although this seat is a good one and a "cut above" what is typical.) This bike is a good value for a home or moderate use facility.

If I had one complaint it would be that the handle bars by the seat are set fairly low. I have short arms and so I have a hard time reaching them. (Not a big deal since I can ride comfortably with my arms at my side.) The unit is supposed to ship with a chest strap heart monitor that interacts with the unit. Our box did not have one. I called Nautilus and they are shipping me that part. It was fairly quick and painless to get them to send that out.

The bike arrived ahead of schedule - very impressive with free shipping. Assembly was reasonably straightforward with all necessary tools included. Construction quality is quite high for a home machine. Operation is relatively quiet and seat-handle controls are very convenient. The display is SHOCKINGLY bright to the extent that it renders the printed text on the display practically unreadable. One LED light on the display arrived damaged and does not illuminate - which way turn out to be a blessing to my retinas. Overall, I'm pleased - for the price, this is a great machine, very compact and nice to look at.

4.0 out of 5 stars Terrific but crashed, February 13, 2009
This review is from: Nautilus NR3000 Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
I bought this bike 5 years ago for home use. It has been used for a total of approximately 250 hours. This week the display began to smoke and then the panel crashed. The service tech came out and said we need a new lower control and a new upper control which, with parts and labor will be over $850. The bike is great and works very well and has retained its aesthetic attractiveness, but I would have thought that the technology would last longer than this.
