This review is from: The Navaho Missile Project: The Story of the "Know-How" Missile of American Rocketry (Paperback)
This book has superb coverage of this now little-known but extremely important project. It is jammed with color and B&W photographs, diagrams and drawings, and facts. The book also looks at concurrent missile programs of the 1950s, such as the Snark, Atlas, and Redstone.

I worked on the Navaho Program at the Cape from Nov.1955 to March 1959 and was on the Launch Crew of N0-1 of the G-26. Before that I had worked on the X-10. I want to thank James for his very accurate history and if possible would like him to contact me. I think I remember his Dad but it was a long time ago. If my memory is correct I have a story about his Dad he wold like to hear. Maury The Navaho Missile Project: The Story of the "Know-How" Missile of American Rocketry

This review is from: The Navaho Missile Project: The Story of the "Know-How" Missile of American Rocketry (Paperback)
This is an excellent book about Navaho. It briefly details the post WWII situation which lead to many missile programs (including Navaho), describes various components of Navaho, details each and every flight related to the project, covers related/similar missile programs and concludes with a chapter describing how technology developed in the Navaho program has been used in many unrelated defence projects since.
Also has many photographs of Navaho and other missiles/aircraft of its day (colour and black and white). |
