5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensible reading for aspiring Midshipmen, November 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Naval Academy Candidate Handbook: How to Prepare, How to Get In, How to Survive Second Edition (Paperback)
The Naval Academy Candidate Handbook is absolutely worth its weight in gold to anyone considering attending Annapolis. It was extremely helpful to me when I applied there, and it provided an honest and accurate picture of what to expect at the Academy. I recommend it to anyone I talk to who aspires to USNA, and have passed my copy on to several others who were in the process of applying. This is the one and only book you need, it's got it all. This '97 grad can't imagine going through it all without the Candidate Handbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant Resource for Prospective Candidates and New Plebes, September 10, 1999
This review is from: The Naval Academy Candidate Handbook: How to Prepare, How to Get In, How to Survive Second Edition (Paperback)
The Naval Academy Candidate Handbook is an excellant resource for the serious candidate. The books gives a 1st person view of Annapolis from the interviews the author did with instructors, Blue and Gold Officers, 1st Classmen and Plebes. The advice given is timely, precise and to the point. As a Candidate, you can bet on the advice. Also the book advises to use your Blue and Gold Officers as an invaluable resource. Good Luck to all Candidates and Plebes! GO NAVY! :) And all Air Force Candidates should buy the Air Force Handbook, the author presents the information with the same precision as the Navy Handbook. GO AIRFORCE! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Book is a great resource for prospective midshipmen!, April 12, 2001
This review is from: The Naval Academy Candidate Handbook: How to Prepare, How to Get In, How to Survive Second Edition (Paperback)
I am currently in the admissions process for the Naval Academy and all I can say is that this book helped a lot! There is a section that talks about what to expect for an interview for a nomination. It was very helpful to find out exactly what they expect from you. Also, there are several interviews with plebes as well as upperclassmen on how to survive at the academy. All of this information is priceless and really shows the true side of the academy. I am very glad that I made this purchase as I know it will help me a lot in the future as well! Go Navy, beat Army!
