Pese a las críticas de que Luis Miguel lleva tres discos al hilo grabando canciones pasadas (pues sus grandes éxitos podrían considerarse así), este es un disco original en más de un sentido. En primer lugar, la mayoría de las canciones son traducciones o adaptaciones de canciones en inglés, que hasta ahora habían permanecido inéditas en nuestro idioma. En segundo lugar, que un artista latino grabe un disco de navidad, y con ello se posicione entre amantes del género, es también un punto a su favor. Pero lo que de verdad marca algo especial en la carrera de Luis Miguel, es la incursión del artista en un género musical que ha hecho grandes a los más grandes. Me refiero al swing, al big band con el que hermosamente se acompaña en este disco. De verdad, los arreglos son insuperables, y la calidad interpretativa de Luis Miguel se acrecenta con acompañamiento tan fino, tan elegante.
El verdadero giro de Luis Miguel con este disco, no es haber producido por primera vez un album de temporada. El verdadero cambio, al menos para mí, un seguidor fiel de su carrera, es que después de haberlo oído cantar con big band, dificilmente nos volverá a gustar escucharlo en el pop. Y es que Luis Miguel ha madurado y su público, que ya no es el de las nuevas generaciones (aunque también lo escuchan y gustan, clro está), sino el de todos nosotros que hemos crecido con él y que también nos hemos refinado en gustos, también lo hemos hecho.
Sí, con este disco Luis Miguel está apostando alto, está apostando a establecesrse como el crooner de nuestro país y quizás de todo un idioma, de todo un continente, y quizás, de algo más.

I'm not a big fan of Luis Miguel since he has been recording the same music for the past decade. Old Boleros are nice but he needed to do something different. Here it is, a Christmas Album that sounds great and shows us that Luis Miguel is still one of the greatest latin artists. I definitely recommend this album and I'm sure that it will turn into a Holiday Classic.

A great holiday album and done in the impeccable style of Luis MIguel and a bonus treat that it has a big band feel to it. Excellent! What else can you ask for more. A Spanish Christmas album has been long in the waiting and it is presented with all the trimmings. Luis MIguel fans rejoice! Love this CD and a perfect accompaniment to the holiday season. Enjoy!

For quite a while, I've looked for a good Christmas cd in Spanish but there seems to be very few latin artists who make holiday records. I've found the odd song here or there but its rare to find a big name latin artist releasing a a collection of Christmas standards...until now!

What an elegant cd this is! Luis takes the old Christmas standards and sings them in Spanish with traditional arrangements all the while, providing a very nice song selection. From the beautiful tracks "Te Deseos Muy Felices Fiestas" and "Blanca Navidad" to the upbeat and youthful "Santa Claus Llega A La Ciudad" and "Frente a la chimenea" this set of songs has a little something for everyone. One of my personal favorites is a translation of the Diane Warren song, "My Grown-up Christmas List", which is called "Mi Humilde Oracion". "Noche de paz" is also included as well as "Va a Nevar"---"Silent Night" and "Let it Snow", respectively.

This is a great cd to get anyone in the Christmas spirit, Spanish speaking or not! I highly recommend adding this to your holiday cd collection!

Well if you like the big band sound and Luis, then you will love this CD. The arrangements are GREAT and suit Luis to a tee. He handles them with ease and polish. Nothing new for him. Where is that English CD we keep hearing about? Don't be afraid you can do it.

Yes, this CD is in Spanish. No, Luis Miguel's English-speaking admirers do not care and have eagerly awaited this holiday CD for many seasons.

Yes, a big band format is the best way to showcase Luis Miguel's powerful voice and impeccable musicality. This is truly a CD that anyone who loves classic seasonal songs will be happy to add to their collection.

No, the unique addition of the poignant Charles Chaplin song, "Smile" is a typical Luis Miguel surprise and not a mistake. Yes, the song does fit the main sentiment of this wonderful time; everpresent, everlasting hope.

As a faithful Luismi fan, I had to buy this album. I was surprised to find it so jazzy. My husband loves American jazz and Christmas music. He has an impressive collection that includes all the songs in this album by American singers like Harry Connick among others. Also, given that my husband is a good music critic, I was pleased to hear that he thinks it's great. What a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas. ¡Gracias Luis Miguel, que regalo tan bello!

If any of you are learning Spanish, Luismi is a great singer to buy because he sings so clearly, his voice is wonderful, and his bands for any music type are superior. I say this as someone that hastaught Spanish to adults.

Cuando comenzó a correrse la voz de que Luis Miguel grabaría un disco Navideño, me agrado la idea. Lo único que me hacia dudar era que el disco tendría sonido de, lo que llaman, 'Big Band'.
Antes de que Luis Miguel hiciera este disco yo no escuchaba ese tipo de música, Big Band, mis oídos no estaban acostumbrados a ella, no era mi tipo. Pero ahora resulta que a Luis Miguel se le ocurrió hacer este disco, Navidades Luis Miguel, yo no dude en comprarlo por las siguientes razones:

Me resultaba interesante oír a Luis Miguel cantando temas navideños.

El hombre ha cantado, Pop, Baladas, Boleros, Tangos, Rancheras y demás; y todo le ha quedado tan bien; que aún no tengo claro en cual de esos géneros disfruto mas oírlo cantar.

De éste disco, los primeros temas que escuché fueron los promocionales: Santa Claus Llegó a la Ciudad y Mi Humilde Oración, ésta ultima es tipo balada y la letra es muy linda, así que, aunque no me pareció algo fuera de serie, me gustó. La sorpresa me la llevé cuando escuche Santa Claus Llegó a la Ciudad, no lo podía creer, que bonita música -pensé-, que canción tan divertida. Caray! No que no me gustaba? Que sorpresa tan agradable! Es impresionante lo bien que se adapta Luis Miguel a todo tipo de música.

Cuando por fin compre 'Navidades Luis Miguel' ya no tenia dudas de que disfrutaría escuchar el resto de los temas, seguro valdrían la pena, y no me equivoqué! Me encantó todo el disco, sobre todo la parte final, que belleza por Dios santo! Es tan hermosa que si fuera la única canción en el álbum, bien valdría la pena pagar por ella los $16 dólares que me costó el disco. Con eso les digo todo!

Una vez más Luis Miguel ha demostrado que su talento no tiene límites, es un verdadero placer escuchar su voz acompañada por distintos tipos de música, y el Big Band, no es la excepción!
