My husband and I have had mortgages for 25 years. I wish we had this book way back when we started. We would have saved thousands of dollars! Everything is explained in understandable, step-by-step language. This book is essential for anyone with a mortgage.

What a great book! I learned so much about all of my finances - not just my mortgage. Dale writes in an easy to understand way and lays it out with tables and all!

This book is not without useful information. Roughly every 50 pages, something useful can be gleaned from it.

However, it is painful filtering through all of the endless rambling nonsense and rhetorical questions that the author poses between the few useful pieces of information shared.

The author actually continues to try to sell you the book, throughout the entire book. It's clear that if this guy wrote clearly and concisely, that he wouldn't have had a book so sell. 98% of this text is filler.

This book should have been a 2-page pamphlet, not a 236 page ocean of useless verbiage.

Having negotiated several mortgages myself, I can honestly say this book does a great job of laying out the important fundamentals that any new or seasoned home owner should know before sitting down at the closing table. But as I read on, I was impressed by some of the finer points about understanding term, rate and debt consolidation and their relationship to the total payback of a loan. I was surprised to find out some of my assumptions of how rate affects a loan were wrong, and that if I don't consider the tax implications, I could make a mistake on my next mortgage.

All in all a great resource for anyone looking to purchase or refinance a property. And the aspect of the book I find additionally uplifting is that Dale is transparent enough to share his own failures and successes and what he has found to provide true meaning. It is evident that he genuinely cares about the people who will read this book and wants them to find the same success he has found both in finances and life. Thanks Dale!

I read this book in preparation to interview the author and it has such great content. You will not be disappointed. Whether you're in a bad mortgage, looking to refinance, desiring to buy your first house--whatever situation you're in, READ THIS BOOK! I wish Dale had written it when we were first looking for a house.
