Editorial Reviews

Review

"I find that the text does a superb job of helping students understand who they are within the context of a larger research university, guiding them through explanations and self-assessments that assist students in understanding themselves as learners--identifying both their strengths and weaknesses--and most importantly how to tap into the vast array of resources available to them as a part of being a student at a research university." -- T. Wyckoff, Auburn University

"NAVIGATING THE RESEARCH UNIVERSITY is an enjoyable read written in a clear and concise manner that engages the student to want to read and learn while encouraging a student's responsibility in the learning process." -- Kimberly Little, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale

"This book clearly and succinctly communicates to students, and those who support students, all of the key first-year transition issues new college students face, particularly to issues of scholarship, and meets students where they are at." -- Catrina L. Wagner, University of California, Davis --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

This review is from: Navigating the Research University: A Guide for First-Year Students (Paperback)
After completing my graduate studies in Higher Education Administration, I looked back at my text books and realized that much of what I learned and have integrated into my professional life in the university is found in this one book. This is a must-have for your library but don't just put it on the shelf, use it!
