Product Description

A native herb to Paraguay, Stevia leaves have been used as a natural sweetener for centuries. Stevia naturally contains glycosides: an element that tastes sweet to the tongue, but contains no sugars, calories, or carbohydrates. Amazingly, studies have shown stevia to taste 300 times sweeter than sugar, yet this supplement has no effect on insulin levels, while also aiding the pancreas and supporting digestion. Navitas Naturals offers this natural herb in a traditional unprocessed powder form, just as indigenous cultures have used for centuries to sweeten their teas, drinks, and recipes.Benefits: Low Glycemic, Sugar Replacement, Safe Sweetener, Certified Organic, Raw.

5.0 out of 5 stars My FAVORITE Stevia August 19, 2009
I haven't always been a fan of stevia. I wasn't a hater of it, mind you, but I wasn't always a lover of it. But, now that I've used Navitas Naturals' stevia, I'm stoked! I love finding ways to sneak in a pinch here and pinch there in my recipes. It's such a great way to reduce the sugar in recipes. I love that it's organic and green (meaning that they really just dried the leaves and ground them down to a powder).

5.0 out of 5 stars Two sugarless thumbs up October 19, 2011

After reading the debate of good vs. evil here on the reviews I was very leery of ordering this. I am no longer eating sugar as of 2 months ago and I wanted something to sweeten up my tea and perhaps bake with. I did not want a Truvia-like version of Stevia because it's processed and who knows if it's actually good for you. So once this arrived it sat on my kitchen counter for a couple days because I was dreading the horrible bitter taste some reviewers described. A few minutes ago I made some tea. As I poured my tea I noticed the stevia sitting there on the counter looking forlorn and forgotten about, so I decided to go for it. When I opened the bag it was powdery and green just as other reviews stated so I was prepared for that. I took a teaspoon and dipped in just the tip to taste it before adding it to the tea. After dipping the teaspoon I braced myself for the alleged horrid bitter taste, but to my shock it was delicious and sweet! I used about half a teaspoon in my tea and it was delicious. I highly recommend this to those who are trying to kick the sugar habit.

This raw, organic stevia is high quality and very sweet. (And the bag seems to last forever; you get a lot of servings!) I love that it does not spike your blood sugar or feed Candida yeast. It is a little "plant-ier" tasting and grittier than the highly processed white stevia you can find everywhere, but I don't mind it at all. I got used to it really quickly and I love it and use it everyday in my Braggs apple cider vinegar drink. I feel really happy that I don't have to use the white (white=processed!) stevia anymore. Processed stuff is so taxing on your body, and often times quite damaging. I will never go back to the white powder one again. I am glad this stevia exists!

Best in health to everyone!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Excellent organic, raw stevia. It's not an extract, and there's no added crap. If you don't want REAL stevia, go elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible
I bought this thinking it would be SWEET since it is a sweetener. I have no idea why it was so disgustingly BITTER. Perhaps that is how the real stevia plant tastes, I don't know. Read more
