The Navman N60i has the widest screen available for a GPS device to make directions easier to read. See a product demonstration (requires Flash).

The integrated digital camera lets you take pictures and associate them with GPS locations. Just click the shutter button on top of the device (shown here).

Getting lost is never a problem with the N40i's Back-on-Track feature.
The first thing you'll notice about the N60i is its impressive color touch widescreen. However, thanks to its intelligent design, the N60i is slimmer and lighter than most other navigators in its class. Sleek and robust, the N60i houses a vast array of impressive features that include thorough directional graphics, a Turn-by-Turn voice guided navigation with 3D graphics mode, and a Multi-route option mode, and more. Other design features include an infrared remote control for easy operation while driving, and with the included Drive-Away platform, you'll be able to use the N60i straight out of the box.

The N60i is the world's only car navigation system that lets you navigate to pictures. With its built-in 1.3 megapixel camera, you can shoot and build your own "Destinations Album" and navigate back to your favorite places simply by tapping the photo on the screen. You can continue to create your own points of interest with the embedded digital camera, or you can upload points of interest and pictures via the Premium Navix Photos website.

In case of an emergency you'll never have to worry about being stranded; just one touch displays your exact location so you can quickly advise roadside assistance or emergency services. And there's even a built-in automatic re-routing protocol with the included Back-on-Track feature, a technology that gives line-by-line directions to find your way even if you deviate from previous directions. When you're ready to park, or when you need to fill up the tank, the N60i sports two convenient "Nearest Parking" and "Nearest Gas Station" buttons that are built right into the front of the unit.

The N60i was meant to be your vehicular companion no matter where you are--from driving around your neighborhood, to traveling abroad. 5.0 out of 5 stars Navman has done a very nice job, December 15, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Navman N60i NavPix 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Electronics)
Previously I owned Navman ICN635. As a salesman/technician I relied on this unit to get me to a wide range of customers. The ICN635 has having some problems with the new 2005 map software so I decided to upgrade; on certain sections of 476 it told me that I was not on the highway.

The N60i is a vast improvement over that model. The N series has a different user interface then the ICN, but it is still simple to use.

Improvement include:
1) Automatic night mode, the display goes into night mode without you having to change it manually.

2) Faster GPS lockup time. First start of the day is also immediate, it is immediate when I leave one customer site to go to another. No more intermediate screens to pass through, start the car and up comes the map.

3) Better voice prompts. On interstates you now get verbal exit number prompts.

4) Touch the screen where you are and you are two touch screen strokes from getting your exact location. This provides complete location information for 911.

5) The abiility to add a favorite based on your location is very simple.

What has stayed the same:

1) The map display continues to be superior to any other GPS units that I have seen. Street names are displayed in a clear fashion.

Other observations:

1) The latency time between screen modes (using the button) is mode immediate. It takes a heart beat between button press and seeing the display change. No big deal, but it was noticable.

2) As far as I can tell, the use highway/local roads priority is set globally, not settable for individual locations. No big deal.

3) As far as I can tell, there in no way to easily show the destination once a route has been started. On the ICN625 I could press the OK button and the routed location would be displayed. I will have to confirm with Navman tech support on this. I would have liked to have this feature.

4) The mount is excellent. The suction cup is larger with the N60 then the ICN635. You can very easily remove the suction cup mount from the windshield to move it to another car. Most excellent!

5) The display is excellent.

6) The internal battery is a nice touch. It does not appear to be user changable.

7) The maps are stored on internal RAM rather then a disk drive. Therefore access times are faster, product life is longer, and it is more forgiving of cold temps when you leave it in your car overnight.

Overall, I am very pleased with this GPS, and I would recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad, but i returned it on the same day., April 12, 2007

This review is from: Navman N60i NavPix 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Electronics)
as a service engineer ,my job makes me travel so much every day, i am very new here in new jersey, where the most complicated roards i have ever seen in my life.
GPS receivers has made it possible that i could continue to live and work in America. big thanks.
i am a person with very bad intuition about dirctions, so i need a device that can guide me clearly and exclude my guess.
i started with magellan gps 760, which was a challenge to use it without
missing turns and it kept saying "calculating route".

i hope this review will help any one who is like me and need a good quality GPS for work.

1-Navman N60
-------------
i just received mine a couple of hours ago, and decided to return it immediately back!
this device is the best quality, best looking hardware and software, top notch.

but not every thing shines is gold, you know?
my decision to buy N60 was basically built upon the demo on navman's web site, the way the 3d map was demonestrated was excellent for me at least.

when i turned on the device it did not display the map as it was shown on the web site, i called navman tech support, sorry you can only change the color of the map, so they said.
and so sorry you can not have it look like the demo, so they insisted.

no problem i said, let test this baby, i took it for a test drive arround
my house, and here is why i decided that i will return it back,

slow refresh rate, can make you miss the turn easily, and that's what N60 does exactly, it has a not acceptable delay between showing my car position on the map and my actual car position on the roard.
1 sec refresh rate is very enough to make me miss a turn, 2 slow, 2 bad.

second when i zoom in the map, it looks ok, but when the car speeds up the software zooms out again and make the roads look so thin , then when i slowed down it zoomed in again, this may be make sense, but i didn't like it.
the touch screen is a bit too sensitive, so entering data is not pleasant.

2-TomTom 910
------------
this one could have been realy the best gps out there because of those reasons:
1- very fast refresh rate, almost perfect.
2- 3D map display is the best of the best, when you look at the display it gives you a very clear view of the road reality in front of you.
you never miss a turn with this display.
3- sound quality is unparalled.
4-voice instructions is very human like and perfectly correct and most of the time is enough to make you take the correct turn without a miss.
tomtom even says what is written on the road boards, like for example
turn right towards " Toll ahead " , there is a big sign with " toll ahead" on the right of the road, this is fantastic.
both tomtom and navman use teleatals maps, i read in the most respect sourse of info about gps devices, which is thr GPS magazine, that teleatlas generates less quality routes than navtech's maps, and teleatlas is less accurate than navtech in USA, my experience is absolutely the other way round at least in where i live in New Jersey.
tomtom first generated route mostly ok, and when i didn't like the route i just selected re-calculate button and i get almost same route like google maps which uses navtech, with navtech i chose most use of freeways and it almost generated the same routes like google as well.
so there is no issue here about teleatlas maps due to my real life experience.
the end of tomtom's story;
when tomtom 910 works, it generates unparalled instructions which realy works, that make no one miss any a turn even in the most complicated, crazy roads like the ones here in NJ, unless the driver is blind and deaf.
but here is the catch, when it works....!

the deadly glitch tomtom has, is its mounting is extra terrible and i returned it to circuit city because i couldn't live with it any more.
alas, this made the most beautiful product very very unrelaible, unbearable and un-usable.
soooooo sad.

3-magellan 4040
---------------
here, there is a very good hardware as well, nearly perfect routing algorithm, and excellent user interface and not so nice text-to-voice.
it has low poor quality 3d map display view, and the deadly flaw, slow refresh rate.
this is also a good vlaue for money, but again not suitable for me.
so this was also returned back same day.

4-Garmin 660
------------
it is a very good product but not excellent.
i would rate it as good in all gps aspects like routing, map accuracy and voice guidance instructions, poi, and it is nicely made as well, but nothing unique or exceptional here, just ok without major complaints.
i don't realy care about mp3, picture viewer and FM transmitter.
i just don't like the colors on the map which no way to custom it.
on the other hand,
navman 60 gives a wide varaity of map colors to chose among, iliked the snow color setting, white, light blue and red, tre shik.
not realy a big deal, i can live with any colors as long as the device gives good clear instructions to get me from A to B.
garmin almost does this.

END
---

Navman N60 is good but not suitable for me, people designed it has a great taste of elegancy, nice value for the money.

i'l be still keeping the Garmin 660, returning the navman N60 and waiting till tomtom issue a new better designed GPS.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good product - no support, May 20, 2007

This review is from: Navman N60i NavPix 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Electronics)
I bought the N60i for a trip to Florida. Have also used in Northern Virginia. The other reviewers have covered the features well but one thing you need to know is that there is no service after the sale and the device has a compatibility issue with Windows Vista.

Map updates are important to keep up with road construction if you live or travel in highly populated or growing areas. Navman does not offer a subscription service for map updates and only offers infrequent CD updates.

To use the software to load maps and edit POIs requires activesync for XP and mobile media device center for Vista. Everything works fine on XP but on Vista the device isn't recognized and crashes Windows Explorer if you try to look at the files. The strange thing is that the Navman software can see the device but Windows Explorer can't. The main impact is that you can't edit POIs since Windows can't see the device. That wouldn't be a big deal if they updated map software regularly. Since they don't being able to edit the POI file yourself takes on more importance. There is no Vista update from Navman.

They don't answer emails or accept phone calls except for ordering products. It's a shame. The hardware is great but I can't recommend.
