Waste of time.,

This review is from: Navy Blues (The Navy Series #2) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was horrible. I wish I could give it 0 stars.
First of all, the main character is immature, irresponsible and completely unlovable. If youre like me and cant get past the idea of a grown woman doing something so selfish and irresponsible as to try to use her unsuspecting exhusband as a sperm donor, youre probably going to spend the entire book wishing that this woman would get hit by a car. The panty-waste exhusband is almost as unlikeable as she is. He spend the entire book being suspicious but unwilling to end the relationship. They break up and get back together a few times during the book, and the whole time I just wanted someone in that relationship to take a hint. If you are in the Navy or have a loved one that is, you may be tempted to read it just because of the catchy little Navy theme and the pretty picture in front. This book has absolutely nothing to do with Navy life except for the fact that the ex is serving. He goes on one deployment that barely fits into the plot. I spent the entire book thinking... This cant be all there is... This must be about to get really good. It never did.

Pathetic!,

I agree with the reviewer above who wanted to give this book zero stars. Since I bought this book online and paid international shipping to get it I was about to cry with frustration after just reading the first 30 pages. The plot - whatever there is of it - drags, the writing is stilted and unnatural. The title has absolutely nothing to do with the story. In short - save your money!!!

Good, but not the best in the series,

To me the whole idea of Steve and Carol getting back together for the sole purpose of her getting pregnant just seemed crazy, but this book was still a fun and quick read.

A sweet sequel...,
This review is from: Navy Blues (The Navy Series #2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Carol Kyle wanted only one thing from her ex-husband, Steve, a baby. After all he put her through, she felt that she deserved the one thing she'd always wanted most. He was the only man that she could ever want to have a baby with, so Carol set about seducing him, all while making him believe that everything was his idea.A part of Steve died when he learned of Carol's infidelity. It was all the little things that didn't add up, and since his emotions were involved, he didn't see that everything he believed was circumstancial. When he and Carol have a passion filled night on Christmas Eve, Steve is convinced they can work it out. Although a good book, I felt that it went in circles. It was Steve and Carol getting back together, then Steve would say something cruel and untrusting, and then Carol would vow to stay away and not risk her heart again. Over and over. Even though it was monotonous, it was still a very sweet romance with two people who were deeply in love.

reading blues,

I have read and enjoyed many of Debbie Macomber's books, but this was my least favorite. The plot seemed boring and repetitive. The two lead characters, Carol and Steve, had no redeeming qualities at all. I also felt that this would never happen in real life. Sometimes I feel as though Macomber makes her male characters sound like women. I recommend Debbie Macomber, but not this particular story.

Hero got on my nerves!,
By Susie (Alabama, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Navy Blues (The Navy Series #2) (Silhouette Special Edition, No 518) (Hardcover)
The hero got on my nerves! He was such a jerk. He believed that his wife had an affair and that she was carrying another guy's baby almost right up until she gave birth. And the heroine never really did much to change his mind, but let him go on and think poorly of her. Plus, why would he want to be with her if he thought so poorly of her? Give me a break! Debbie Macomber's other navy stories are better.

Monotonous But Good Read,

Like the prior reviewer, I believe this book became a bit monotonous. After reading for a while I felt that 30 pages later I was at the same point. I didn't find Steve or Carol to be likeable characters, in fact, they're really cruel to each other. The book didn't really make the case for why Steve and Carol loved each other. Neither Carol or Steve were well drawn characters at all. Despite all I have said about this book, I consider it a fairly good read, however. Reading this book encouraged me to consider the other books in Macomber's Navy series.
