5.0 out of 5 stars The Elite Teams Killer Workout
This tape was a powerful workout tape for me and has put me into better shape and gave me confidence. This is a must have for any Navy Seal fanatic. But if your not ready for a challenge this tape isnt for you. This tape also carries a warning that if your a beginner consult with a docter first. So please take a look at this it will be worth your money

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality
This DVD had real potential. As a member of the Armed Forces, I was hoping for something that would take me back to boot camp and give me the quality of workout I remember. Didn't happen. I'm not saying that the Navy SEALs don't have excellent training, what I am saying is that it is not reflected in this workout. The filming is done very poorly, on about $40/day. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, April 10, 2004

This DVD had real potential. As a member of the Armed Forces, I was hoping for something that would take me back to boot camp and give me the quality of workout I remember. Didn't happen. I'm not saying that the Navy SEALs don't have excellent training, what I am saying is that it is not reflected in this workout. The filming is done very poorly, on about $40/day. I thought I was getting a workout that would require no equipment, but that is not true. While the majority of the exercises don't require anything but you, there is a major section that needs pullup and dip bars. In retrospect, I would not have bought this DVD, but would have spent my money elsewhere. Don't waste yours like I wasted mine!

5.0 out of 5 stars The most difficult and physically demanding DVD of its type., December 31, 2006
This review is from: The Navy SEALs Workout (DVD)
The Navy SEALs Workout is a 55 minute routine that was filmed at the Naval Special Warfare Center. Navy SEAL instructors effortlessly lead BUD/S trainees through a rigorous PT session. This is actually a compilation of several workouts led by various instructors and combined into one video session. I have every Navy SEAL fitness video available and this is by far the most difficult and physically demanding DVD of its type. A pull-up bar and dip bars are required for the workout.

I doubt that anyone other than a Spec Ops warrior can successfully complete the workout as shown on their first try. I'm in good shape and I still can't complete the whole routine at the pace shown. The number of repetitions for the upper body exercises appear deceptively easy at first. They soon become difficult because of the slow, strict form that is used. What really makes them hard is the use of negatives where you hold the position for extended times. The multiple sets are also performed with very little rest. Be prepared for some pain! The abdominal, neck, and leg exercises rely on sets of very high repetitions with no rest in between to push you past your limits. For example, some of the exercises include, 100 two-count "good morning darlings" and 100 four-count neck rotations followed immediately by 100 two-count up and down. You will also be performing 200 reps for the first set of squats. These exercises are designed for extended muscle endurance. Be prepared for more pain!

The production quality is good with detailed instruction at the beginning of each segment. The SEAL instructors are the epitome of physical fitness and they are motivating examples for others to follow. This is challenging, hard core PT that will either make you stronger or make you quit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for what it is... a conditioning workout, September 29, 2005
By
This review is from: The Navy SEALs Workout (DVD)
I think this video was great but, you have to know what it really is. When you watch it you see the BUDS trainees getting a minor thrashing. You should just follow what it does and build up to the reps that they go to. If your looking for somethings to introduce into your current work out, or if you need some ideas to start a work out routine, then you might like this video. The quality isn't the greatest, but then again who really cares, you get the point, and they show you how to do each exercise propperly.

5.0 out of 5 stars REAL anerobic workout, February 6, 2003

this is probably the best workout video you can buy. It is very testing and requires nothing more than pull-up and dip bars. I defy anyone to complete it properly first time. A definite cut above the rest.

This video is great if your thinking about BUD/S, the pushup, ab and dip sections of the video are killer. However, the pullup section of the video is a little weak, you better be doing a whole lot more pullups if you want to make it at BUD/S. "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday!"

3.0 out of 5 stars DIP BAR NOT INCLUDED, June 23, 2006
This review is from: The Navy SEALs Workout (DVD)
The title description never mentions that a pull-up and dip bar are required for this workout. I got it mostly to remind me of PT cadence.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good conditioning program!, February 4, 2011
By
This review is from: The Navy SEALs Workout (DVD)
Yes the picture quality has a lot to be desired but it is a solid program. Also why would people give bad reviews because they are too cheap to make their own pull up bar, I went to lowes and made a heavy duty one out of cast iron pipe for around $30. If you don't want to make one buy one that hooks in a doorway. As far as a dip station use two chairs. Bad reviews because you are cheap does not mean this is a bad product.

I've been doing this workout since November of 2001 and I'm now in the best shape of my life. I'm proud to say, I can do everything on the tape at the rate it's presented. The only thing this tape is missing is the running and swimming.

1.0 out of 5 stars Upset, December 4, 2001
This review is from: Navy SEALs Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I didn't pay (dollar amount) to see people do pushups and situps. I can go to the gym and see a better emphasis on physical training. It didn't show the real stuff that makes a United States Navy SEAL. I wanted this tape because I felt it would give me some insight in there training to give me an egde. The title does not match the contents of the video in any way. People want to order this tape because they want some type of motivation in there physical or mental endeavors. This tape does not deserve the title that it has.
