Book Description

November 15, 1999
New Testament Exegesis in the Light of Hebrew and Aramaic Thought. The author uses thorough knowledge of Hebrew -- and especially Rabbinic -- literature to interpret the most puzzling events in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. The author seems to understand the psychology used by Jesus better than the apostles themselves understood it.

About the Author

The author was Chief Rabbi of Trieste for over 20 years, then became Chief Rabbi of Rome during World War II. This book was written over a period of about 20 years. After writing the book, the Rabbi came to the conclusion that Jesus of Nazareth is the Suffering Servant of Isaiah and that Jesus revealed this identity to the Apostles at the Last Supper.

5.0 out of 5 stars From a reader of New Testament, March 6, 2008
By
This review is from: The Nazarene : Studies in New Testament Exegesis. (Paperback)
This is really one of the most fascinating book I read, since the author, who is a well known expert in ancient languages and particularly in biblical Hebrew, ancient Greek, Latin and Aramaic, throws unexpected light, via a very professional exegesis, on many difficult points in the New Testament.
