When I received this product it was working fine. I was happy because this product was lot cheaper than original Canon charger. But within two weeks this charger stopped working. Now I am planning to buy original Canon charger even if it is expensive.

This battery charger was so much less than the Canon charger, I was very skeptical it would even work. However, I tried it anyway since it was so low cost. It works fine. It is slightly larger than the original and seems lighter in weight, that makes it feel more cheaply made. But since it works well, I won't complain. If it wasn't for that I would have given it 5 stars. It includes a plug for the car power outlet so that is a bonus.

Product just arrived and I wanted to try,so I got my battery and left charging 5 minutes later i smell something burning... Guess what was it??? Waste of time!!! Don't buy it!!

Garbage!! Didn't charge my battery at all. Tried taking the cheaper way instead of paying alot on a Cannon charger and ended up buying it anyways. This charger was a waste of money.

Was very excited to see this product ship so fast and was super excited when I recieved it in the mail but it didnt fit :( Even tho it said it was for my type of camera and the right battery size it still didnt fit my battery :( I didnt even feel like going through the process of sending it back for only $4.

No problems. It charges the batteries. That is all you really need it for. It is small and travels well about 4"x3"x2".

Given the price of the similar item in the street shop in Manhattan ~$25.00 I decided to by this one and see what happens. (2) out of (3) chargers were fine. One didn't start. Gladly I have 17 years of experience in electronics so it would not take more then 10 minutes to open the charger find a bad soldering contact and fix it. Certainly the quality control is not what the manufacturer is doing for this product. If you ask me whether I will by it again - yes I will, it is cheap in times and easy to fix in many cases when broken.

Amazingly low price for effective means of charging nb-51 batteries. Amazing that Canon can get 15 times more for almost the same thing. And they even toss in a car charger adapter. AMAZING!

I just purchased (from Amazon) the Canon SX230 HS. It comes with its own Canon CB-2LX charger. The Canon charger recharges my drained Canon NB-5L battery in 2 hours. I wanted a second charger for my vehicle, so I ordered this new "Nb-5l Battery Home Travel Rapid Charger with Car Adapter for Canon", receiving it two days ago. Testing: I placed my camera's fully drained Canon NB-5L battery in this <ahem> rapid charger and marked the time to test how fast it would take to fully charge the drained battery. After three hours of charge time and with the indicator light still red, I could not wait any longer. I removed the battery and placed it in my Canon CB-2LX charger. It took an additional 90 minutes to complete the charge.

Simple math shows what my genuine Canon CB-2LX charger would do in 15 minutes takes this generic charger 3 hours. If I had let this charger complete its charging cycle the total time to charge my Canon NB-5L battery would have been approximately 12 hours. This charger is useless to me. I threw it in the trash since it only cost a few dollars. I will buy a second Canon CB-2LX charger to be used with the DC converter I keep in my vehicle.

You get what you pay for.

Received this item on priority shipping just before leaving the country for three and a half weeks. I intended to use it in conjunction with the original equipment charger that came with the camera and when traveling in a vehicle for several hours. The indicator light immediately showed green when first plugged in and stayed on green for the duration of a normal battery charge, but the charger failed to charge any of the four camera batteries I used with it, whereas the original equipment charger showed red for these same batteries at the outset and yellow after the batteries were charged. This item was defective and should have been tested before being packaged. Although this product was inexpensive, this experience has destroyed my confidence in the quality of this vendor's products overall.
