4.0 out of 5 stars Not too shabby
This scope is a decent buy. I like the quick release feature so I can still use my open sites. Although the focus is limited, you can still keep a decent group at 100 yards.

(I'm editing this post after months of use). I've come to love this scope more over time. The multi-color cross hairs come in real handy for shooting in woodland or plain color...

3.0 out of 5 stars Yes a poor man's ACOG
For this price I wasn't expecting a whole lot... but am pleasantly surprised by this scope.
Mounting with the quick release was easy and painless... snug as a bug.
The eye relief ( for me at least) is more like 2".
Illuminated sights are way to bright for me and I see double green at lower settings. Don't plan on using them anyway.

NOT happy...

This scope is a decent buy. I like the quick release feature so I can still use my open sites. Although the focus is limited, you can still keep a decent group at 100 yards.

(I'm editing this post after months of use). I've come to love this scope more over time. The multi-color cross hairs come in real handy for shooting in woodland or plain color surroundings. I would definately buy another. The quick release comes in super handy for switching to open sites, or transport. When reattached, perfectly zero'd in (as long as you mount it in the same notch you took it out of). I've done a good job banging up this scope, and it's still working as good as the day I bought it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Scope, May 20, 2009

I bought this scope back in March/April 09 for my AR-15. For the most part I am pleased with the multi-function crosshair, windage/elevation adjustments and the quick release feature. The only downside is in order to get a full picture in the eyepiece you have to be within 1 to 1 1/2 inches from the eyepiece. If you mount the scope to the nearest mount point on the AR it then interferes with the access to the charge handle. When you mount the scope further up on the rail system, you then have to bring your adjusting stock all the way forward.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great scope for the price. A poor man's ACOG!, July 3, 2010

This review is from: NcSTAR® 4x32 mm Mark III Illuminated Reticle Tactical Scope Weaver / Picatinny Mount (Misc.)
I had this scope for more than 3 months now and i have no problem with it. I originally got this scope for my newly purchased SCAR-Light-16s in .223 Remington/5.56 NATO semi-auto rifle made by FNH-USA. The reason i went for this scope in the first place is because buying the new rifle really took a chunk out of my savings (over $2300) and i really do not have the extra cash to buy a EOtech/Aimpoint/ACOG types of quality scopes. I ended up surfing the internet looking for a scope for my new rifle, then i found this baby! I want to make it clear to everyone right now, if you have the money/resource to put a Eotech/Aimpoint/ACOG on your rifle, i say 100% go for these quality sights and do not even bother with the Ncstar, but if you are like me who can not afford to own any of these sights in the near future or at all this is the scope for you.

I will use to Pros and Cons to break down this scope for you.

Pros: 1. Quick release with throw lever, you can take this scope off in under 5 secs and put it back on just as quick.
2. It will not lose zero as long as you put it back on the same rail location (in my case i use the number on the rail as reference and made sure i put it back on the same rail location every time)and it holds zero after 1500 rounds and 3 months with constant use still rock solid.

3. Clear optics even in cloudy weather or sunset hours. 1/4 MOA adjustment is great for a tactical scope.
I was able to shoot sub-MOA group with this scope with variety of match grade ammunition with a bi-pod at the bench,Prvi-Partazan 0.95moa, BLACK HILL 0.88moa, Hornaday 0.85moa.

Cons: 1. Eye relief is listed at 3 1/2 inches, i measure it at least for me it is more like 2 1/2 inches eye relief. This not that much of a problem for me at least because my FN-SCAR have flip up front and rear sights and 6 position adjustable stock i was able to installed the sight very close to my eye, This can be a problem for some users who can not install the sight that far back.

2. The battery powered illumination is quite useless for me at least. I felt it is too bright even at lower sittings, but that's just me, others might find it useful.

well that's all for this review. I recommend this scope for anyone on a budget, but still need a decent scope for target shooting and hunting or saving up to buy a quality scope.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A SIMPLE ACOG. HOLD ZERO SO FAR AFTER 2000 SHOTS W/ MY AR CHAMBERED 7.62 X 39. DEAD ON EVERY TIME. EASY ON AND OFF WITH A FLICK OF A LEVER. BUILT TOUGH.

I bought this scope based on other reviews. They proved to be correct. The optics are clear and the reticles sharp. The only possible problem I can see is the illumination is very strong but as I have not really tested it thoroughly I can't really tell. Not important to me anyway as I had not planned on using that function.

First off, the set screw is junk and looked like it was already stripped when I opened the box. I took it out to the range to zero and it was all over the place. It turned out the set screw was indeed stripped. After replacing it with a good machine socket screw, however, the scope is great.

So far I've put 200 rounds of medium grade .223 and NATO spec high-velocity 5.56x45mm down range 5 rounds at a time. Between every mag I pulled the scope off, tossed it on the bench, then remounted to see if it would lose zero. To my surprise it held up every time. I'm putting down sub-moa groups at 50 yards and 1-1.5" groups at 100 yards. This scope would easily get five stars if not for the terribly cheap set screw.

NOT happy with how Amazon shipped it in a foil bag and not a box. Maybe why my illuminated sights are the way they are.

I was very impressed with this scope. I mounted it on my new .223/5.56 DPMS M4 and it only took six shots to sight in and held it dead on for over 100 rounds. Very impressed for the price. It seems to have very solid construction.

Easy installation, works great and super fast shipping. Illumination is great and the scope couldn't be better. I would highly recommend for AR-15 users and I will buy more in the future
