4.0 out of 5 stars ncstar X2 Cross Bow
Received bow 3 days ago with mixed apprehention after reading 2 of the unfavorable reviews. If the rails are lubricated with standard bow string wax as with any cross bow.....it functions normally. The engineering/design of this product is remarkable. It is difficult to believe a country(China)can design, produce, ship and market this item for $50. (scarry)...

i bought this little crossbow just for fun, and maybe to teach the nieces and nephew about shooting and safe weapons handling when they are ready.

before the first time that i shot the thing i noticed that the rear open site was cheaply made, after a few shots i gave up on the idea of using open sites due to the fact that every shot would change zero. so if you get it just remove the rear site and go all scope. it did preform fairly well once i got the little 4x20 air gun scope zeroed.

when i got done shooting it for the first time i dissembled it for storage in its original box
leaving the scope on it in hopes of not having to re-zero it, alas it was a moot point, as when i took it out of the box two weeks later the prod (bow part) had a crack right down the middle and would not be terably safe to atempt to shoot.
i'll try to track down a new prod if the price is right.

another minor gripe. on the right hand side there is inlayed a small what i would call a "that-a-way" compass. these uesualy have a small amount of liquid inside, however this one was dry, and pointed no where near north. they arnt realy good for navigation at the best of times and in this instance completly useless.

i didnt expect much when i ordered, but even those low expectations were optimistic

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, November 24, 2010

Honestly, it is one of the most horrible things I have ever purchased. It is horribly inaccurate, breaks easily, and just is an overall waste of money. Do not buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars if I could give it zero stars, I would ----- junk, February 1, 2010
This review is from: NcStar Crossbow with Scope (Sports)
broke after firing 3 bolts. latch mechanism that holds the wire 'string' would not hold and while
trying to get it to hold, handle snapped in half. cut my hand up too. what a P.O.S. plus, the cheap bolts (plastic) separated from the head
while in flight.

trash. keep your money and use it toward something better!

broke in the first 5 min of use. It looks awesome but the thing is held together with plastic bolts! It was also missing pieces that were needed to mount the scope. . YES it looks awesome but dont plan on using it for anything but a cool thing to put on your bookshelf.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of chinese junk. A cheap toy, October 22, 2010
This review is from: NcStar Crossbow with Scope (Sports)
The thing broke before I even got it set up. Bow part splintered under pressure of cocking it, pieces fell off. Scope is, well, a ten dollar scope. I guess you get what you pay for, but it should have lasted atleast 1 shot. wouldnt recommend it to anyone, even as a play toy

The very first pull back the limbs cracked and then broke in two. It came with no instructions and my husband has put together many bows. This was just an all around waster of money.
