3.0 out of 5 stars disappointed
Looked great in the box but after I set the laser to zero, every shot I had to reset it and after 60 rounds the up/down stopped working so the laser is useless. Scope zeros pretty easy and stayed on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent scope, December 6, 2009

I love this scope! I currently have this scope mounted to an AR15 A2. Very easy to use, firm adjustment knobs (which are well crafted) and a breeze to mount with a quick lock lever allowing you to remove it from a rain in seconds. I am also impressed with the quality of the image even at its max magnification. The scope also has a rubber coating of armor that not only looks great but is well made and strong. This scope is a great buy for the money.

I also wanted to mention that the scope has a red laser mounted on the left side that allows you to air your rifle without looking through the scope. You could in essence shoot from the hip if you wanted to. The scope sight and laser have independent settings so you can set the laser for 100 yards while setting the scope for 200 or 300.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome on my S&W M&P 15-22, March 1, 2010

I've been looking for a powered scope since my eyesight is extremely horrible. My eyes are at -9.5 so I'm EXTREMELY nearsighted. This scope feels sturdy enough but after doing research (before purchasing) I read that tightening all the mounting screws, especially ones on the bottom of the unit, will help ensure that the scope stays zeroed after being fired. The 3x-9x adjustable power works exactly as expected if you've ever used a 3x-9x you shouldn't notice a difference. For less than $200, its hard to beat this scope. The laser is an added bonus. At first I thought, "What's the point of a laser on a power scope?" Well, I zeroed the scope for 100 yards and the laser is set for 50 yards. So anything 50 yards or less can be targeted pretty quickly and easily using the laser. I haven't tried the bullet drop compensator yet since its not calibrated for .22LR ammunition. Even without using the blue illuminated reticle, the black reticle is just fine for regular lighting. I had the stock iron sights for my S&W but honestly, I couldn't see my targets clearly even if they were less than 30 yards away. All in all, I'm very happy with this scope and I can say for sure that it hasn't lost zero even after firing 500+ rounds with this scope mounted. Keep in mind that I'm only firing .22LR from an AR so there's not as much kick as you'd experience from other larger caliber ammunition.

Pros - The adjustable power zoom.
- Blue illuminated reticle is actually not overbearing
- Was thinking of purchasing a separate red dot, but the laser is more than adequate.
- Rubber coating is durable and a definite style bonus point.
- For less than $200, I can't think of a better scope. (with a laser!)
- Comes with a zippered case to stow the scope if you want to.
- Flip up lens covers are clear enough to use even when they are in the "down" position.
- Not noticeably heavier than the factory iron sights (which I had to remove to use this scope as the rear sight was too tall)

Cons - Couldn't leave my factory iron sights on and use this scope. Rear sight blocks the lower 2/3 of the reticle.
- Bullet drop compensator can't be calibrated for different ammunition.
- The "laser on/illuminated reticle on" setting doesn't let you adjust reticle brightness.
- Quick release lever is on the right side of the unit. Would have preferred it on the left side.
- Elevation adjustment knob is located INSIDE the bullet drop compensator post. You have to unscrew a cap on top of what's
normally the elevation adjustment post.
- Battery is one of those cr2032 batteries that's typically used as the CMOS battery in computer motherboards.
- In order to adjust the laser, you need an allen wrench.

My brother has the M&P 15 (full .223 AR) and a $400 EOTech red dot. Even he was impressed by this scope. I would definitely recommend this scope for anyone who's looking for an affordable adjustable power scope. There's also a version without the laser that will save you about $30. You can even get it at a fixed 4x magnification and no laser to save another $30. Get one!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Scope and a Great Price, January 11, 2010

This review is from: NcSTAR® 3 - 9x42 mm Mark III Rubber Tactical Scope with Integrated Laser (Sports)
This scope is great. We mounted it and had it zeroed in 6 shots on a new Ruger SR556. The quick lever mount is really nice. After zero we decided it was to far forward so we popped the lever, moved the scope back a few notches on the rail and locked it back down. Still a good zero.

We removed the scope a couple times and re-mounted it and still had zero. Didn't have a long enough range to try the BDC and have not set the laser up yet. We did turn the laser on and on a bright sunny day it's pretty iffy at 100 yards but I would not expect it to work well under those conditions. We will set it up on the next trip to the rang for 25 yards and under ranges.

Highly recommend this for anyone shooting mid distance with a flat top AR. It should work on a handle mount too but we don't have one. The laser should be great for close quarter zombie work too.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you need a scope at a good price here it is, February 8, 2011

I was a 18 Delta in the US ARMY as a Special Forces Medic for 21 years I have had many occasions to use different types of rifle scopes.I would say for the money you will find no better buy, I have it mounted on my Bushmaster AR-15 and run 100 round clips through it almost daily and have had zero issues, the bullet drop compensator works on multiple grain 5.56/.233 rounds the laser was easy to zero as was the scope sights and held zero through the first 1000 rounds easily. Note after zero I always use loc-tite on the threads to ensure tightness. The product arrived right on time and was packaged very eye appealing and safely. All in All I dont think there is a better scope for the money and I have scopes ranging in price from 2000 dollars down to 10 dollars. This isnt a ACOG or Leupold but your paying no where close to those prices and it actually works close functionally to those type scopes. I am ordering one for my sons SKS for his 15th Birthday because he and his friends cant keep their hands off mine they love the hip shooting made available with the laser.

The moment I rec'd this I looked it over, held it upside down and notice the mount looked slightly off center. I mounted it on my ar 15 and low and behold it was canted to the left. The cross hairs were also slightly tilted off. To me it's worthless as a scope. Unbelievable. I was very very disappointed. Disgusted. To Amazons credit they had it picked up the next day by UPS. What a waste of time and effort. I also bought a vertical hand grip, it was non-adjustable and was way to loose to keep. I have to wounder if some businesses are selling seconds or junk in the hopes people won't return items and they will make money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scope, March 9, 2010
This review is from: NcSTAR® 3 - 9x42 mm Mark III Rubber Tactical Scope with Integrated Laser (Sports)
Scope is great. Works well. Was able to sight in 5 shots on my MP15-22. Laser also works well for shorter range. Had take the rear site off the MP15-22 to fit it on. Front site shows up as a blur on the bottom of the lens but does not block the cross hairs. Would Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Scope, August 28, 2010
I mounted this scope on my Rock River AR-15 Entry Tactical. I followed the instructions for zeroing it in and had it on target at 60 yards in 10-12 rounds. Since then I've fired several rounds with perfect precision. I've also removed/replaced it on the rifle several times. Each time it went right back to bulls eye with no adjustments. Good scope especially for the money. BTW, laser works well also.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad - but not perfect, April 8, 2011
I just received mine a few days ago with the rangefinder sights. I have it attached to my DPMS Oracle in a .308 caliber. I know that its made for a .223 but in my opinion if you have a scope and shoot it enough you should be able to know where your bullet will hit at varying distances. With that being said, I have not done a range report using this scope yet. I am curious as to how it will hold up with such a large caliber shot and I hope it will stay set on zero. I will update this when I finish doing that.

Overall I really like the quick release and attachment. It has a good solid fit on the rail and it doesn't seem to budge at all. Overall it is heavy too, which is nice to feel so it does seem like a true rifle scope. All of the adjustments have a nice "click" to them when they are used. I can easily tell when I have made an adjustment.

The sight itself seems quite good. I'm not a scope snob and I am not compairing this to a trijicon. I don't have that kind of money. So it seems relatively clear and focused on all magnifications. But I want to use it at the range before I really can give this a fair judgement. I do know if you need clarity, go by a Nikon - I have a prostaff on another rifle and it is top-notch. But for the purposes of my DPMS I think this will be sufficient.

The only drawbacks that I have found deal with the laser/illumination. They are both activated by the same dial. I found this odd because I can't just flip a switch like most laser mounts to turn it on. In fact, you have to rotate the dial one time and it will turn on, but in the process it also illuminates the sight (annoying). Turn it the same direction one more time, and then you get the laser without illumination (which is ideal). If you initially rotate the other direction, you get your 5 setting of blue illumination. However, I didn't see too much of a difference between the illumination settings.

Last, and probably most importantly, is the eye relief. It is quite close - I don't know about 2 inches, but I would guess no more than 3 inches to get the full view through the scope. You can pull back a few more inches and still use it, but you will have a more limited view, but can easily fire on target. It does seem to be truly tactical in the aspects of eye relief too - I have pulled it up qickly at all kinds of different eye relief distances and every time I could quicly acquire my target without adjustment. There doesn't appear to be a "black hole" effect normal rifle scopes have if you are too far away and/or too close.

If you are looking to shoot at distances of over 250-300 yards, this probably isnt' the scope for you. If you are looking at shorter distances and quick target aquisition these seem to be what you're looking for.
