Nice tactical equipment for a first buy,

This review is from: NcStar Compact Pistol and Rifle Flashlight Green Laser with Quick Release Weaver Mount (Sports)
I bought my first handgun (Ruger SR40, which I love) about a month ago and wanted a tactical light to go along with it. Now I am sure there are better pieces of equipment out there, but for what I paid for it this one is fantastic. Love the green laser, and the strength of the beam is incredible. I had to do a little manipulation of the laser and my gun rail with a metal file to get it to lock into place (my gun rail is a Picatinny and the light is built for Weaver style), but I still got it to lock into place just fine. The light seems really durable. The only pain is setting the beam just right to match where your barrel is pointing (Tedious). It is also very easy to change between the laser and the flashlight. Some people might find it annoying to have to switch in and out, but I am not a special agent and would probably rarely use the flashlight. Although it is very bright, I would much rather have my laser on in the middle of the night if I need to defend myself. All in all I am totally satisfied.

Good, cheap laser and LED flashlight,
This review is from: NcStar Compact Pistol and Rifle Flashlight Green Laser with Quick Release Weaver Mount (Sports)
The 1st one I received wouldn't hold zero, sent it back to NcStar, they made good and sent me replacement unit. The 2nd one is fine, holds zero on my snappy .40 S&W Glock. Laser hasn't moved since cal. The on/off switch is right trigger finger reach only and can get turned on and left on unconditionally in a range bag. This has happened more than once. Other than that- swap and fit up on the led flash light, either is perfect for protection. Shoots fine with it on, even offers counterweight feature. It's not waterproof. Compared the LED flashlight to my shooting buddy's Surefire light, its not as bright, I must admit- but his surefire is not $200 brighter.

This not the first NC Star product I have purchased, but have been well pleased with it so far. Like the quick disconnect feature. It allows me to use on various weapons. Multi lens are a plus as well. Would purchase another when time comes.
