Installed on a Mossberg 500. Like the other reviews say it cannot be installed vertically because of the top mount. I have mine positioned sideways so that when my hand rest naturally on the pump, my thumb is only an inch or so away from pushing the power button on my maglite xl200. Quality piece, worth it for the price.

I'm like many other reviewers with a Mossberg 500. This product would have received so many five star ratings if they would have made it to fit between the rails. I have a grinder, so after a few minutes of work, I can now use it as a bottom mount. It really is no big deal, but why would they make customers do that?

Just be careful you don't go too far, but you do have to take it right down to the screw head then a quick spray of some black paint.

Okay, now the good. It's not some cheap platice mount, it's sturdy and looks well made. Once it's modified, it's just what I was looking for and at a good price.

I bought this one because it is metal. I felt the plastic type would have too much give and slip. I am pleased with the quality of this item. Like others noticed, it would not fit parallel under the magazine tube because of clamp clearance so I mounted it at a 90 degree angle which works just fine allowing easy thumb operation of the light switch. Also, added a slice of duct tape to the inner ring surfaces to help eliminate slipping or scratching.

Ok I can see being a little dissatisfied with a Mossberg 500 and this mount if you wanted a verticle mount but I own the Mossberg 590 and love the side mount now I can have my surefire flashlight (once i order it) and my bayonet! I might even spring for a laser light if I find one I like with a decent battery life. Anyway great mount havn't tested it holding up to recoil yet but after I loctite my new flashlight in this thing i am very confident it will hold up.

Good item, proper fit for Rem.870 tube mount. Good dimentions, machine work and finish is top quality. Good price.

Problem: certain laser mounts require more surface area to maintain laser mount position. In other words, the NcStar mount may be too narrow to adeqetly hold the laser in place. But 2 NcStar mounts placed side by side will align together and at the same time maintain the laser mount and with stand the recoil of the 12ga shotgun.

Very nice. Mounts well to my Mossberg Maverick 88, although the barrel had to be removed to mount it to the mag tube, since the end was too thick to fit between the tube and barrel; that was easy, though. Holds a small, $3 aluminum flashlight securely. Since I'm right handed, I mounted the light on the left side, so my thumb is naturally almost touching it when in its natural position on the forend. Very pleased. Metal construction was worth the extra money, since the flashlight barely fit into the hole, so there were only a couple threads holding the screws in. Also, I wouldn't want it breaking off if I bump into a doorframe or wall. For what couldn't be more than a $2-3 difference for plastic vs metal, go metal every time. I haven't gotten to try out the rails, but they seem well made.

Also, the inside of both holes has some sort of rubbery gripping strip, so it won't mar the mag tube/ruin the blueing. Excellent item and well worth the money (<$10 for the mount and flashlight)

Wanted to mount a light and a laser to my hunting rifle. I own a regular bolt action rifle not the paramilitary type.
From the beginning wanted to mount the light/laser to the scope and not to the barrel, felt that barrel mount would possible scratch the rifle barrel and that was totally unacceptable. Started by purchasing the "UTG Universal Shotgun/Paintball Tri-Rail Barrel Mount (Each Rail with 3 Slots)" thinking that it would adjust to the scope instead of the barrel, I was wrong, it did not work. Then purchased this mount and it works like a charm because besides being so simple to install it allowed me to mount a light on the second ring, also purchased the "AccuShot Premium 1-Inch Weaver Style See-Thru High-Pro Rings" to clamp the laser to the available Weaver base on the mount.
This is truly a simple solution to add devices to your weapon via the scope.

This is excellent for the price and was the easiest way to mount a flashlight to my air rifle. My air rifle (Hammerli/RWS 850) didn't have a rail open since the scope is mounted on the dovetail rail already. The clamp is made of metal and comes supplied with an allen wrench for tightening the screws. I would prefer the distance between the two 1" clamps be a little more. My intended flashlight has a bit of a lens on it and that combined with the flare on my 6x42 scope made it so the flashlight lens hit the scope objective bell. Moving the clamp towards the eye piece worked for clearance, but then the flashlight covered up the elevation adjustment. I used another 1" flashlight with a smaller lens (1.3") and clamp holds everything tight.
