NcStar 5 " See Through AR Handle Mount

I was looking for a cheap way to mount a scope on my ar-15 without going through all the hassle and expense of installing a flat top receiver. This was the perfect solution to my problem.

It came in a nice sturdy little box which can be saved for later storage. The mount seems to be very well built and fits snugly into the carry handle. It was actually a little too snug and i made a very deep scratch in the finish when i first installed it( a little lube will probably fix this problem). After that simply hand tightening the nut onto the screw seems to be sufficient to hold it in place. I've put 500 rounds through my rifle so far and it hasn't needed tightening.

Problems i had:

1. The item is labeled on amazon as a weaver rail when it is in fact a picatinny rail. The difference between these is that the slot spacing on a weaver is 3.8mm and on a picatinny its 5mm. This can cause a problem when you're expecting a weaver rail and order rings that lock into the slots ahead of time WARNE 200M 1IN RINGS LOW MAT . The rings still work because they have side screws that tighten but the whole reason i bought them was that they locked into the slot. So just be warned it's NOT a weaver rail.

2. The price of the item is a very good deal but the shipping rates of the two companies that sell it on amazon are insane. If you find it anywhere else it will probably be more expensive but id go for it just to avoid paying their exorbitant shipping costs.

Other than that, the see through iron sights just take a little getting used to. But thats something i think all see through mounting systems require and not a specific problem with this product.

Well packaged for delivery. The Scope Mount fitted snuggly to the handrail and once secured, it was there to stay. I mounted an ATN MK350 Night Vision scope and was pleased that after firing the rifle many times, the Scope Mount remained secured. The Scope Mount easily detaches for storage of the scope. I am pleased with its aesthetic appearance, ease of mounting and its secure fit, and it also allows me to use the iron sights.

Im not sure where the information from the first review came from. I was concerned because I wanted a Weaver mount, and it was described as a Picitinny rail.. The space between the blocks is .18 inch. This is the spacing for a Weaver rail. Picitinny would be .20. Look at the article at [...]

As for quality, it seems fine. It looks like cast aluminum, and the finish is of good quality. Fit in the handle just fine. There are holes on the knob so you can tighten the knob with an allen wrench or similar tool. All things considered, a very good deal for those of us that have the old style uppers.

This AR-15 scope mount I have on my M4A1 Carbine. It was nice and cheap, and works great. If something were to happen to your sight on the mount, you can always rely on your iron sights on the gun. (the mount is a see through mount). The mount itself is nice and sturdy. I don't have a scope on my gun, instead I have a red-dot sight, but it is really accurate and sturdy. This scope mount is a picatinny mount, so if you have any optics for a weaver rail, they won't fit. The mount is made from cast alluminum. This is a really great product, get this mount because the mounts at sporting good stores are around $26.

Pros: Nice and sturdy

Always have your iron sights if your optic on the mount fails

Can take on and off really fast

Comes in a nice box, if you want to store away

Cam still use the carry handle

Cons: Might cost more to ship than the price of the mount

This mount was purchased to be able to put a red dot sight on the carry handle of our M-4 airsoft gun. It works flawlessly and is shaped from solid alloy so it should last (theoretically) forever. There are much more expensive mounts out there, but this one works fine for us.

The carry handle is okay, mines bent in the back during regular use. I have my mounted to a T68 carryhandle on a paintball marker. This was not intended for the T68 but im happy with it because the one for my marker is over $30. However i also have a AR-15 and this does not fit the AR-15 either. But since it serves my purpose for my paint ball maker im okay with it.

A WELL MADE MOUNT AT A REASONABLE PRICE.I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS MADE IN CHINA BUT I AM HAPPY WITH IT. WE ALL BUY TO MUCH FROM CHINA .

This product fits on the handle of my ar15 perfect. Holds nice and secure.

This is a great rail for the price. excellent view through the look through area. Seems very well made. I recommend to anyone who wants to mount a scope or red dot to the carry handle of an ar-15.

I bought this item for a friend of mine who has an AR-15 with an A2 upper. He wanted to mount some optics, but wasn't really sure how to go about it. He's gonna' LOVE this!
