I was very impressed with the scopes quality.

Build quality, materials and mechanical design are fantastic, but the red dot brightness is almost useless on a sunny day.

The best sight I looked at is the EOtech but it is over 500.00 dollars.

Wow! The quick release lever makes it a snap to put on and take off, I am swapping it back and forth between a GSG-5 and a Saiga-12. The housing is solid metal, not cheap plastic and the price is great! The selector switch on the side lets you choose between the red dot, the laser, or both. The red dot and the laser can also be sighted-in separately, one for short range and one for medium range!

I put this on my trusty Socom 16 M1a with the VLTOR modstock. Needed nothing; the stock receiver rail on the Socom 16 was Perfectly placed saving me the extra weight of adding extra rails. Now I almost bought an Eotech but tried this instead and I am glad I did; you can self zero using the side laser and red dot at the same time! couple rounds and its money.best part; you flip a lever and its on your home defense shotgun. I would suggest buying a couple extra watch batteries to be well stocked, but mine came with two; one installed one in ziplock. Folks can tell you to buy a $500 aimpoint or eotech but its just a 1x dot site at the end of the day; no magnification etc and this NC Star product is VERY nice. I love being able to judge distance by looking at holodot and the laser dot at the same time; the closer together they are they farther the target; Instant distance feedback. Heck I might just keep one of these in my Golf bag. Mine was 5MW and brighter than all get out during broad daylight in snow-covered winter so the other guy must have had a bad unit.

Build quality, materials and mechanical design are fantastic, but the red dot brightness is almost useless on a sunny day. At the maximum brighness setting it's pretty much invisible on a sunlit target and by no means quick and easy to pick up (sort of the point of a CQB sight like this). Tried a fresh battery and it was no better. The laser is useless in all but indoors environments too (which I expected).

Had high hopes for this sight -- the aperture is huge and the FOV is really nice. Looks really mean on a sub-machinegun. I've been very happy with other NCStar products like their tubeless reflex sights, but this one, not so much. Skip it if your highest priority is a nice bright, quick sight reticle for outdoor use.

After purchasing one of these to mount on an ak as a night-time coyote gun for around the campsite I liked it a great deal. Now I'm adding one to a car15. It's fantastic on that particular firearm. Mounted forward on the quad rail it provides quick sight picture with the option of still using the carry handle sights right through the red dot.
The one issue I've had is that the switch to activate the red dot/laser can become loose. When I first received the original scope it was hard to turn. With some use it became easier & then got too loose. (Could be from the recoil of the 7.62) I ended up taking the battery out and disassembled the switch enough to re-tighten the small screws (do not get them to tight as the switch will become difficult to move)and put a dab of superglue on the head of each one. It works fine. A bit of an issue but I like the scope well enough that it was worth the effort and I purchased a second one. Optics are nice & clear, the red dot and laser are both bright and the lens coating looks good. Not an aimpoint, but not hundreds of dollars either.
For the price, it's an excellent choice.

I bought this sight for my ak47 after seeing the 30mm I had to have the 40mm it has better visiblity. Out of all the low priced scopes I look at this one had the best, dot most of the others that I looked at had a dual image, this one does not. The best sight I looked at is the EOtech but it is over 500.00 dollars. I like this scope because it's a good scope for the price and you get a laser sight as well. It does take some time to set up because you have two sights. I was afraid the laser sight wouldn't stay set because the screw turned very easy but I was wrong it stayed the whole time at the range I was able to put several bullets though the same hole and was very impressed with how much easier this scope is to use over iron sights. The laser is visible in day light. You also get a spare battery and an alen wrench for the laser sight but you will need a small common screw driver the set the red dot sight.

Digging the red dot so far. Easy to mount and sight in. Mounted it on my S&W 15-22 and ran about 200 rnds through it with the optic mounted with no problems! Need to find lens caps for it though, didn't come with any.

Received the scope very quickly. The sender was very fast in sending the scope. I was very impressed with the scopes quality. It filled my expectations and then some. Being able to transfer it to other rifles with such ease makes it very desirous.

This is a nice, well-made piece. It's fully adjustable, both in position and aim as well as in brightness. I use the red dot for when I need to be stealthy, and the laser for when I'm in close quarters and don't have time to aim down the sight. I use it in conjunction with a tactical flashlight with pressure switch. Very deadly.
