Beautiful piece if it worked.

After two weeks of being on my wall (just long enough to have thrown away the box), the minute hand fell off and I can't re-attach it.

This might just be an issue with my particular unit though.

This clock looks great on my wall, I've had a lot of compliments about it. Aesthetically, it's 5-stars.

Functionally, it's not so great. I've changed the battery 3 times, and it's still not turning at the correct speed. This might just be an issue with my particular unit though. Also, the hands are pretty flimsy. When the minute hand reaches the apex past the 12, all of a sudden gravity kicks in and the hand jumps to 5 minutes past the hour. Then at half past the hour, it stays stuck for 5 minutes while the gears try to pull it up the left side.

I have it up just as a conversational piece, not at all to tell the time. Right now, it's 6 hours slow. I'm too lazy to change it.

Out of the box the hands wouldn't move properly, then one fell off. I intended to send it back and get another, but I went on vacation and forgot. I tried to fix it, but the basic quality of parts just sucks, everything just keeps breaking. Beautiful piece if it worked.

I bought this same clock 6 years ago and it worked fine until recently.

I was delighted to see that it was still being made and ordered it from Amazon. Unfortunately after only having the clock for 3 days I can see that the reviews above were accurate. This clock doesn't keep time. It will for several hours and then it just stops. I'm not sure if it is the weight of the hands or a faulty mechanism but given that others had the same complaint I'm sure it's not a defective unit.

Not only is it flimsy but it's incredibly awkward to set the time accurately because once you get the clock set to the correct time the big hand will just 'fall' down.

Unfortunately, I'm going to return this. Until the manufacturer fixes this clock - Amazon should stop selling it.

Like the previous reviewer, I absolutely love how it looks on a wall, but it doesn't keep time. I tried a new battery a few times, but within a day, it's already behind. I also experienced the "gravity" of the minute hand - once it passed the 12, it would suddenly drop to 5 or 10 after the hour. People always complimented it and rarely noticed that it didn't keep time, so I left it up for a year, but I finally tossed it.

I previously purchased a black one from Chiasso, also NexTime. It worked great until the minute hand fell off two years later - it never really stayed back together (plus the hand got bent when it hit floor), so I finally just threw it out.

If you do give it a shot, take note that the hands are VERY delicate. If they get bent at all, they will catch on each other or on the wall. Handle it as little as possible, and if you're going to move anytime soon, be sure to keep the original packaging for transport.
