5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful!!!
Mr. Ellis has written an epic spy story in "Nea Makri." The strong cast of characters and his ability to crisply portray the local and foreign residents, the minute details of the city of Nea Makri and the U.S. Navy's installation, make for an intriguing and suspenseful story. I truly enjoyed it and look forward to his next novel.

Very amateur writing. However, if you were a US Navy Radioman it's a very enjoyable read.

I helped build that base. It brought back fond memories of a place far away, long ago. I looked at how thick the book is thought "should be a good bathroom read for a month". WRONG, I picked it up just after lunch. I finished it in time to make my wife her breakfast. The only other all non-stops I have ever pulled were Tom Clancy books. No doubt, the author was Navy.

I strongly recommend this book, it really kept my interest. If you served in Nea Makri as an US Naval Officer, Chief or Enlisted Sailor, it will really bring back memories. It probably kept my interest due to being a Communicator in the Navy. NCS Nea Makri Greece was probably my most favorite command I was stationed at (I was a junior Officer). This is a wonderful Spy Novel that you will keep you wanting to read more and more! Now onto the Author's other books in this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars "NEA MAKRI" A Book To Read !!, April 3, 2010
This review is from: Nea Makri (Paperback)
The Mike Ellis adventure novel "Nea Makri," about the exploits of young Rigney Page, the US Navy ONI Intelligence Service newest undercover operative, will keep you on the side of your seat & turning those pages. You will not want to put this book down. Rigney's adventures of catching the bad-guys, while using his newly acquired skills, will make you feel as though, "Wish I was in his shoes for these highly electric missions." This is a must read book for any adventurous Sailor -past & present- !! If you are not a Sailor, read it anyway. You will not be disappointed. Mike's other novels, "Apollo Rises" & "Chief Page" are just as exciting. Put all three on your reading list. Can't wait for more "Rigney Page adventures" to make the book shelves !!! Richard W. McDaniel, RMC USN Ret., K4RMC.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Anticipated Sequel!, January 5, 2010

This review is from: Nea Makri (Paperback)
Mr. Ellis continues the adventures of ONI agent/Navy Radioman Rigney Page in this sequel. He did not let me down! I thoroughly enjoyed the international spy mystery interweaved with a rather robust sexual adventures of this young Radioman. Took me way back once again to my own Navy radioman days in numerous exotic locations around the world. Bravo! Mr. Ellis! Give us more Rigney Page!!

4.0 out of 5 stars suspenseful, November 21, 2009
This review is from: Nea Makri (Paperback)
Nea Makri is the second and continued book by Michael R Ellis. It is suspenseful and very descriptive. I feel I am along for the adventure.

It starts off with good details, but it does get a little slow about 1/3 the way in. Don't give up however, as the mystery and adventures continue up again. I could not put it down at the end...
I enjoyed this book and his first book, Apollo Rises. I look forward to reading the 3rd book.
