He has served as pastor of The Donelson Fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee, for nearly 30 years and holds degrees from Columbia International University (BS), Wheaton Graduate School (MA), and Luther Rice Seminary (MDiv). He and his wife have 3 daughters and 10 grandchildren.

If you love music, particularly the great hymns of the Faith, you will enjoy this book. The author has put together a book of short devotional stories surrounding 366 hymns. He includes the famous as well as the obscure. Each devotion includes the lyrics, story regarding the events surrounding the hymn, and Scripture. This is perfect to use as devotional readings in your small group or in your private devotions.

This book has shown me so many new hymns & writers about whom I had not known. It brings a wealth of historical Christian worship to the seeker. Refreshing! The hardest part is trying to share the hymns with friends & family. Some are available online; for others I was unable to find the additional stanzas mentioned in the book, or the melodies.
