I feel I have to write a review of this product because of all the bad reviews based on the small size. The description clearly lists the size (8 x 8 x 7 inches). It is smaller than I assumed from the photo until I read the description, but I bought it because it's perfect for on the go. The flaps on the inside (when zipped) mentioned in a previous review-easily are pushed over to the edge to lie flat with the outside of the box.

We homeschool and my mom is older and has a lot of health problems and therefore, a lot of doctors appointments I have to take her to with 2 kids in tow. I bought this to take a few toys along to the doctor's office for my 4 and 7 year old boys to be entertained.

I love it. It's perfect! I tossed in a few legos, a few matchbox cars, and a few small action figures and it lives in the minivan so it's always with us when we need it.

Something not in the description is the lid is also a play mat of sorts-it has a design on the underneath just as the inside of the box has a design as a play mat.

Pros-
Easy to use
Easy to wipe clean
Offers a small mat for a clean place for children to play on the go
Holds enough small toys to keep 2 kids entertained for a 1+ hour doctor visit
Cons-
The lid doesn't fasten on so it comes off easily (I'm thinking of just adding some velcro dots to 2 sides to keep it in place)

If you are looking for something bigger for home rather than travel, they make bigger versions as well LEGO® CITY ZipBin® Toy Box & Playmatthat is 13.5 x 12 x 8 inches and LEGO® CITY FIRE ZipBin® Large Toy Box Playmatthat is 16.5 x 12.8 x 10 inches

This is a great little storage container - but just that, LITTLE! I purchased this for my 18 month old. It is perfect. It is currently holding 2 lego duplo cars sets and that is about its capacity. For my little kids, this is really perfect. It's just enough blocks for them to have lots of fun with but still be able to manage. We love that the bin unzips to make a city they can build on. My 18 month old can carry it around and loves to move his toys from room to room. I love that it encourages clean up and organization. We purchased it on sale for under $4 though. For the full price, I would go with a larger zip bin unless you are specifically purchasing this for travel.

My son loves legos. Thought that this cute tote & playmat was a great idea for storage of his small lego collection. I will be lucky if they all fit. Cute idea but I wish I would have known how small it really was before I bought it. As long as he doesn't get anymore legos we might be ok. :)

I should have paid closer attention to the product description before buying this under Amazon's bargain bin. It is cute but not well designed or constructed and does not look neat wth clean lines like the pic featured here. The concept and logos are cute but it is small and the lid doesn't stay on securely at all. If I had paid anywhere near msrp this box would be returned for sure.

I bought the Lego Head ZipBin Toy Tote & Playmat on sale today at the store. Tomorrow, I am returning it to the store. The top rests on the tote and my son, who is two, would be unable to keep the lid on during play. The play mat should not be considered a "play mat" because it is the size of a large place mat. The zippers seem sturdy as does the fabric. The design of the cube is cute, but the mat design is poor. Overall, this product seems to be created to appeal to the parent who makes the on the spot buy, rather than for a parent who sees the product in use and wants one for their own child.

I bought this for my son to carry his legos around in. Well, it's not really great for that purpose because i thought because of its name that it zipped up at the top, but the top is hard to get on, and nothing holds it on. It's mostly like a cardboard box. But, if you unzip it, the playmat is kinda cool to play with one's legos on.

It was smaller thatn I thought but it is good as a playset and folding it back up is a good challange for a 4-7 yr old about shapes. It is excellent for holding all his little men and spare batteries and all things small and loseable

Maybe I did not read about this before I bought it...it is a flat mat that zios up on the 4 corners however then there is all this extra flappy material inside. Not cool.
