The ramp is angled to high to actually race and there is not enough room on the top to hold five cars and then let them go.

This is similar to the boy scout pine box derby set up, but it is really small. With the track fully extended, it reaches out maybe 12 inches.

A nice features is that it can hold a handful of cars, so it is a storage case as well as playset.

When we tried it out, the cars did tend to keep going straight after they exited the toy, so we were able to make a "finish line" 2-3 feet away and the cars tended to make it there ok.

One thing I found odd is that the starting line has checkered pattern - which is supposed to be at a finish line. Small details that kids probably won't notice, but adults and preteens might.

We've owned a lot of the molded plastic car cases over the years and I can say this one is definitely much more fun on the go than the standard carrying case. It's smaller and made so kids can take cars with them on the go. It's divided into 5 rows deep of 4 spaces so it will fit 20 cars. The case is 12 inches tall so it's very portable and the track folds up into the case. It isn't a full size race track but my kids took this to a doctors appointment where they had to wait over an hour in the waiting room and I didn't hear a peep out of any of them for the entire wait. They were trying different brands of cars in different rows and seeing which ones would win. It works for all different types of cars and not just the Hot Wheels brand. They even had one of the rows full of the old Micro Mini Machines and they'd race down the ramp too. When everything is closed up it is very secure and you don't have to worry about things falling out because of the locking latch built into the handle. My 2 year old can easily open and close it herself. It should provide many more appointments and ventures out more fun for them! I received this product free of charge.

This is a super convenient, storage, carrying case, and race launch for hot wheels cars, or other similar die-cast vehicles that have tended to languish in the bottom of the toy box. The case is portable, and a very neat, attractive storage for those little hotwheel/die-cast cars. There is storage for 20 cars (we own 11). The ramp is short, but can be extended with additional track. However, a hard wood hallway floor was a bonus in determining that the winner of the race out of the case was not the mustang, but the pickup truck! Do read the (extremely helpful) instructions to open and operate the carrying case. My grandchildren loved this case as did a friend’s 8 year-old nephew. By raising the case's handle four cars race at a time (with a storage capacity of twenty, five races can be run with a loaded case), and my little ones got pretty good, at loading the carrier with cars that were equally matched in speed and distance. The case travels well, and stores those little die-cast cars perfectly! I received this product free of charge. P.S. would love to see how the school bus (yellow cheese box) does in its race out of this carrying case!

I recently received the Neat-Oh! Hot Wheels Racing Battle Case. My kids were very excited to when they first opened the box. However, the excitement soon turned into frustration while we tried to figure out how to operate the case. As a team, my kids and I were able to get the race track open, the base set, and eventually the car carrying area to slide up (you have to move part of the handle you hold down). Once the case was open, my son grabbed a number of his cars to slide into the case and we were again disappointed because many of his little cars did not fit into the case. Once we placed enough of the “right” cars in the case, we flipped out the race track and the pedestal/base for the track to be at the right angle, and then we pulled the case up so the cars would slide down the very short track. The cars must start in the case in order to go down the track, so we would reload the cars rather than grabbing them and placing them at the top of the track to race again. Going back and forth from filling the case up to resetting the track was bothersome, and my kids quickly lost interest. On the positive side, the packaging is very appealing, the case is lightweight, compact and durable (we really pulled a lot of different areas when we were fist trying to get it open). Unfortunately for us, this dual purpose toy has not worked out. I am giving this product 2 stars. I received this product free of charge.

This is a neat little dual-purpose box for storage and racing Hot Wheels cars. It has 20 compartments (5 rows of 4) and a carrying handle, so could be used for storage or travelling with the toys, and a flip-down ramp to let the cars loose to race. No springs or batteries, the cars go by gravity power, soap-box derby style.
To use, stand the box on end, extend the ramp, and raise the handle to expose the first line of 4 cars, each with its own lane, ready to go. Tilt the box forward slightly, and all 4 cars will race down the ramp to your finish line. A fair race!
If you have lots of cars, then raise the handle to expose the next row, and another race is ready to go. Looking forward to trying this out with my grandson when he visits.
