Covering a 45-year period, The Nebraska Way chronicles both the historic rise and gradual fall of the Nebraska football dynasty, from the hiring of Bob Devaney and succession of Tom Osborne to the firing of Frank Solich and rapid separation from tradition. Along with the highs and lows of the Cornhuskers’ achievements, The Nebraska Way also attempts to define Tom Osborne’s philosophy as a coach and mentor as well as the relationship between the football program and the state it represents. Also discussed is the transition from a unique and special program to one assuming the characteristics of any other major college football program, and what it means for the future of the University of Nebraska football program.

Jonathan Crowl is a local sports journalist who covers Nebraska football. He was born in the Midwest and has lived in Nebraska since 1998. He is a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and currently lives in Lincoln.

Review of the Pederson Years as well as the glory years,

A good review of the Devaney, Osborne and Solich years. Provides a fair amount of insight as to what was happening within the athletic department under Steve Pederson, the firing of Frank Solich and it takes some shots at Bill Callahan. Currently the only Nebraska book of it's type, so it may be worth the price for that alone.
The biggest problem I had with the book is that it contains a little too much from Doak Ostergard's perspective. There are references to Pederson's handling of the athletic department from other than Ostergard, but it could have had more.
