I bought this mask expecting it to be just some other run of the mill plastic mask that would only barely cover my face. I cannot adequately describe how wrong I was. When I opened the box, a light shone out of it as though it were a portal through which I could step directly into Heaven. Even though the mask has been painted to look dirty and worn, it feels so solid, so smooth, that I think it might have been carved out of elephant bones. And this is the least of it. I was wearing a tank top and sweat pants when I opened the box(because I'm a classy guy), but as soon as I put the mask on, I was wearing a torn up flannel, under a tattered army jacket, worn out jeans, and big sturdy boots. What's more, I was holding a bloody machete in my hand. Ecstatic, I ran out of my room to show my whole family my awesome new mask, but I found everyone (except my mother) in a bloody pile on the floor. This mask totally changed my life. I now have nearly unlimited energy, super human strength, and the ability to withstand and/or quickly heal from injuries ranging from paper-cuts and slaps to bullet wounds and broken vertebrae. I don't think I'll ever take this mask off.

I've been searching for years for a product that is similar to the actual mask from the movies, and this is so life like, it's excellent! Quality is great, strong material, i'm very happy. I highly recommend the purchase of this item.

Horror movies have always been a huge part of my life, especially the "Friday The 13th" films. When I found out about the replica of Jason's mask (a replica from the 2009 remake of "Friday The 13th"), I knew I had to get my hands on one. And I finally did, with the help of amazon.com. This mask is 100% identical to the original mask worn by Derek Mears, himself, in the film. It is nothing short of amazing in detail.

Now, that I have a mask in my possession, I will be taking it with me this weekend to Monster-Mania, where I will have Derek Mears sign it. My only hope is that more "Jason" actors will appear at future Monster-Mania shows and I can have them sign it, as well.

When I looked at this mask on the net I saw that it looked awesome and the reviews were for it being a 2009 prop replica. I am not sure what movie it comes from other than it is identical to the one in Part 3 and Part 6, with the exception of the mask in Part 6 not having the red stripes on the cheeks. I even paused the DVD and counted the holes and everythin matches. As far as the mask goes, it is very durable. I placed a lot of pressure on it and it did break but it took me bending it as hard as I could so under general wear it will not break. It is very sturdy and hard as a rock, so all you Jason wannabe's out there who want to smash their head through car doors (don't try it) can do it...again don't try it I am just giving reference to how durable the mask is.

I do suggest finding a latex Jason mask to go under the hockey mask on the principle that the mask is hard like I said so the extra layer would make the mask feel better. A definite buy for those wanting to actually look like Jason.

Picking the outfit.....well that is harder than it looks.

The mask is just way too dark in color. It also seems very fragile. The shape of the mask itself is not at all what I'd expected... too wide and flat.Rubies Jason Deluxe Fiberglass Halloween Mask Style # 4186 I was hoping the overall shape was like this Rubies one, and with some aging, but not as dark as it is.

This is the BEST Jason Voorhees F13th hockey mask available today.

The original(Part 3) mask was, I believe, made of fiberglass with some kind of varnish|sealer.
(very hard to come by). All others, made of any other material, are imitations of the real thing;
including this one--but this one is as good as you're going to get insofar as the right LOOK.
There is still one better as far as durability, and that would be the PVC plastic kind (almost
indestructible). This one CAN shatter if dropped on the floor, but all the same, it's not glass
or anything.

Very thick, very weighty, this one feels like the real thing. Looks like the real thing. But NECA
(bless their heart) did the best they could as far as mass producing these with a decent paint job.
I still re-touched mine, however (see a posted straight-ahead shot|photo at the top of this product
page). I re-touched mine with oil paints, because the paint job came with a flaw|blemish that wasn't
supposed to be there. (note: oil paints will loosen the paint NECA apparently airbrushed on this mask,
so if you're in it a little, be prepared to be in it for a lot...as you'll likely have to paint the
whole mask if you're not careful). I was able to leave the red chevrons that NECA put there. I assume
they used acrylic airbrush paint. I varnished mine, and the end result was very satisfactory. Looks
like the one from the movie, if maybe a bit darker, dirtier. (always some debate about that among
fans, it seems--he either has to have an off-white, almost cream- or bone-colored mask...or it's
gonna be dirty and scratched up from battles and...hmm...the surrounding woods of Crystal Lake) :-)
To be accurate, that is. To each his own.

The biggest complaint with this mask would be the SHORT top strap. BUT...it can be fixed by locating
the same kind of black cloth elastic, and adding a small adjustable buckle (probably black). I don't
have one on mine. Maybe these things stretch out over time and fit better. My PVC plastic masks had
those which were the right length, but NOW they're too long (from using them in haunted houses), so
maybe this one will 'even out' over time, if worn to any great degree.

GREAT to hang on the wall, though, for display purposes. GREAT, if you want a mask that looks and
feels authentic. This is the only one you need to buy. If|when they ever do any future F13th movies,
they could do far worse than to buy a few NECA masks and doctor them up with extra scratches or whatever,
to keep the consistency going. Now they don't have to keep making new ones for each movie!

I was a bit disappointed with this mask. Especially after reading the reviews. Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise, so I've been wanting this mask for a while. I'm Bartending for a New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball and was hoping to wear it. Thought the mask would look pretty cool with a black button down, to show Jason's classy side, but there's no way it'll work. Every time I look down or bend down it wants to slip off. I may have to try and make some adjustments. Also there was a sharp corner around one of the eye holes I had to file down. It looks great and will make for a good display piece, but don't expect it to be a good costume accessory.

the mask is not as strong as you think is is my dad drop't it an i broke right over the middle of the eyes the next day we glued it with gorilla glue ant it worked for 1 day the 3rd day i went down to my grandmas house and it slipped off my face and broke in half.every time i drop't it it broke i am not going to buy a new one of fix it it was fun casing my sisters with the machette and wering the mask but it was not strong at all

I ended up NOT buying this mask from Amazon like I wanted to. I figured it wouldn't get here in time for the convention. But luckily as soon as I got to Horror Hound Weekend, I saw this same Neca Mask in a booth. The mask was a bit more expensive than it would have been on this site. But when I got the mask signed by Kane Hodder at HH, it made the mask, and the price definitely work it. The durability of the mask is GREAT, But it makes it a bit heavy. But I intended it as a show piece, and collectors item rather than a costume mask. So, if you are a Friday the 13th fan this is the best mask out there in my opinion. It's even molded with little nicks and scratches, as though it's been through the brutal slaughter of teenagers at an abandon summer camp!

I read all the reviews on here before I decided to buy it. The overall durability of the material the actual mask is made out of is good I'm happy with that. I'm not happy that the mask was cracked right by the top strap when I pulled it out of the packaging. Also where the top strap connects to the side straps was already coming apart. The strap also feels like it keeps sliding off of my head. Besides the crack in it and the straps I like the mask overall, but probably only because I am a big Friday the 13th fan.
