This review is from: Let the Necessary Occur (Paperback)
Gayle Jackson Sloan puts you into the world of this couple with, lies, deceit, betrayal, greed, lust and temptation.
In the eyes of the outside this couple had the perfect marriage. But behind the walls it's hell. Matthew is a powerful attorney and his wife Gloriana is a Christian Musician. At the beginning of the marriage it was all cookies and cream. As the careers hit high peak, slowly the love is been tested. The more money the more problems come knocking on their door. Matthew finds himself getting weaker as his wife continue her touring. He has told her over again how lonely he is feeling. What suppose to been a short term agreement turns into a long term. Gloriana promise him a family but now the money has gotten good and she is avoiding this with all cost. While she is avoiding the issue at hand. This lady pops up out of no where name Aston(She-devil) comes to destroy the marriage. She is hired by Matthew as his paralegal and she is damn good at what she does. But what she has up her sleeve Matthew can't control. This is just the tip of the iceburg. You have to get your copy to find out what's really going on. What God has put together, Let no Man put Asunder,
By
This review is from: Let the Necessary Occur (Paperback)
OMG! I truly loved and enjoyed this book, Let the Necessary Occur. It was so profound, and a book that would cause discussions among women and men for years to come. This book dealt with so many different situations and circumstances, specifically "relationships," "faith," and "forgiveness," being the key to all the things concerning any and all relationships, especially marriages. Seeing and knowing that fame and fortune is nothing if you have no one to share it with, while being aware that as in the beginning, with Adam and Eve, the very first christian marriage, the serpent found a way to bridge a gap between God and his children simply by sweetly speaking into Eve's ear and telling her that God wanted to keep supreme knowledge from them, causing her to doubt God, and then encouraging Adam to believe what the serpent said and eat the fruit with her, which was man's first fall. Like the serpent in the garden, the enemy of today will use any and all means necessary to destroy the covenant of marriage.
In this book, Gloriana got caught up in her fame and fortune, while forgetting that even though God gave her a ministry to sing and lead people to Him, her first ministry was her husband. You cannot truly minister and enjoy success in the world when your homelife and marriage is jacked up! As marriages are sealed with the statement of, "That what GOD has joined together, let no man put Asunder" at the end of the marriage ceremony, many christians forget to continue to cover their marriages with God. As Glori lost her focus, Matthew, also allowed himself to forget that he and Glori was one, no matter how much money she made, and pride goeth before destruction. Being naive to the wiles of the enemy, he got caught before he even knew what hit him. The old saying holds true...everything that glitters is not gold! Married men and women of God should never forget that their first ministry is their spouse, above and beyond all other things in life, apart from God of course. This book is an awesome read, which I recommend to anyone who has ever been tempted to trust their eyes before their heart, while forgetting that the flesh is weak, and without our eyes stayed on Jesus, we will always be an easy mark to be tripped up by the enemy. With God all things are possible; However without Him....well the devil is always busy.

Hindsight is 20/20!,
By Marie Antionette "The Queen" (Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Let the Necessary Occur (Paperback)
A dedicated and successful gospel singer Glorina McCrae, her husband, a successful Sr. Partner of a high profile law firm, a love sick side-kick Cooper St. James and Aston, a scorned and hateful vixen, are the ingredients in a recipe for matrimonial disaster. Glori who is at the height of her career has blindly ignored the needs of her loving, yet sometimes egotistical husband Matthew, who desperately wants her to slow down and start a family. Cooper St. James, Matt's and Glori's friend of several years has had it with hiding his feelings for his very married tour companion. Aston, with nothing more then greed and destruction on her mind, managed to weasel her way into the married couples life, and by learning personal tid-bits about their private affairs with help from her second rate, bi-sexual journalist cousin, (Pandora Foxworthy) calculated how to put a wedge between the two and seduced a lust struck Cooper into aiding her in her plot. Had only Matt paid attention to his first impression of Aston. Had only Glori taken heed to her Nana and Charloette's advice. Had Charloette, Matts secretary confronted Matt about her suspicions, maybe they all could have escaped the clutches of evil. However you know what they say, when you dig a grave for someone did one for yourself too. But instead of Astons targets demise, Aston contributed to something way more sinister.
I loved Ms. Sloan's lingo. Reading her book really enhanced my vocabulary. The story-line was realistic, and the characters were believable. After reading the first few chapters, I was ready to "cheat" and jump to the end, but I didn't want to spoil my read. I enjoyed escaping the day to day rat race, and curling up with Let the Necessary Occur. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking to read a juicy piece of fiction with teeth gritting splashes of reality! Marie Antionette-

(3.5 Stars) Love On The Rocks,
This review is from: Let the Necessary Occur (Paperback)
Matthew and Gloriana McCrae have what seems to be a perfect marriage. Their marriage was full of faith, honesty, and commitment. Beneath the surface, some problems were starting to brew. Gloriana is a successful gospel artist, and Matthew is a high powered attorney. They had the ideal marriage. They were financially stable, and both were well known in their community. Gloriana was extremely excited about how well her music career was going. She was constantly on tour and loving every minute of it...too bad Matthew wasn't. Matthew wanted his wife home with him and starting a family. Also waiting around for Gloriana and Matthew's marriage to crumble was her singing partner Cooper Saint James and the lovely Ms. Aston Montgomery. The more Gloriana stayed on tour made Matthew more vulnerable because of his loneliness and missing his wife. Aston soon picked up on this and set her sights on tagging attorney McCrae. Cooper was spending more and more time with Gloriana and felt that she would soon forget about Matthew and be with him. All he had to do was wait. Will Matthew and Gloriana's marriage sustain the temptations of the flesh, or will they finally give in to something that comes so naturally?
Gayle Jackson Sloan gave vivid details about situations where people are married and they don't share the same agenda. I enjoyed how she made the main characters' lives interact with one another and how a marriage can become very vulnerable. The beginning of the book dragged a little, but the story started to picked up. The plot seemed a little too predictable, and you kind of figured out what Cooper and Aston were up to in the beginning of the book. I was hoping that this book would have some twists in it to throw you off, but it didn't. I did like the moral of the story, but I was just hoping for a little bit more from Let The Necessary Occur. This book has to be Ms. Jackson Sloan's best effort to date.
The characters are deep and well fleshed out. You just feel as though you know them. I'm a fan of flawed, yet redeemable characters. Glorianna and Matt as well as the strong secondary characters keep me turning pages non-stop to see which way they would play the hands Ms. Jackson Sloan dealt them. I HIGHLY recommend this book. Don't let the theme mislead you...although, I do believe those read Christian Fiction would enjoy the book...Ms. Jackson Sloan kept the sex scenes steamy --as is her moniker.

Author Gayle Jackson-Sloan soars with her newest novel, Let The Necessary Occur! She takes you into the very intimate world of Gospel Sensation Glorianna McCree and her Powerhouse Attorney husband Matthew McCree. Ms. Jackson-Sloan holds nothing back as she weaves a story of how hunger for fame, greed, and lust can literally crumble what "appears" to be a strong, stable marriage. It is these very elements that allows pure evil disguised in a stunningly, beautiful package aka Aston Montgomery to slither into their lives committing the deadliest of sins!

Quite Necessary...,

This review is from: Let the Necessary Occur (Paperback)
Let the Necessary Occur by Gayle Jackson-Sloan is a page-turner filled with drama, deception, marital and relationship woes. Matthew and Gloriana McCrae have what appears to be a picture-perfect, spiritually-based union. Matthew is a very successful attorney in his mid-forties. Five years younger, Gloriana is a sought after Christian musician. On the surface, they have everything a couple could wish for; money, fame and fortune. However, below the surface is where potential problems lie. Gloriana spends major time on the road performing. Matthew wants his wife home in his arms, and pregnant with a child. Gloriana is enjoying her escalating musical career and feels that she has time for babies and being homebound. Also, there are others in the mix, her singing partner, Cooper St. James, with his own agenda and the lovely Aston Montgomery who has her sights set on lonely Matthew.
Ms. Jackson-Sloan gives the reader an intimate view of what goes on in marriages when the partners do not have the same agenda and when there are outside forces working from within. I loved reading about how the lives of the main four characters became intertwined and how even a marriage that appeared to be grounded in faith was as vulnerable as any other. This book is a perfect example of how weak the flesh can be and how easy it is to be swayed by greed, pride, lust and revenge. Most importantly, the novel touches on how important the ability to forgive is for a marriage to work, especially one that is rooted in faith. I recommend Let the Necessary Occur to all who love a well-written, timely novel that is relatable to everyone. Angelia Menchan APOOO BookClub

Ain't nothing like learning a lesson the hard way, and that's
exactly how Matthew McCrae learns how much his foolish behavior will cost him. In walks sexy vixen, Aston Montgomery, and out walks Matthew's good sense. He finds himself inexplicably attracted to Aston and before long, his attraction gets him into a world of trouble. Aston is out to snag him and she'll stop at nothing to have him to herself. She seems to have appeared from out of nowhere and wormed her way into Matthew's life, but with her, there's no such thing as coincidences. Gloriana McCrae is a world-famous gospel recording artist who is away on tour, perhaps, more than she should be. She's Matthew's devoted wife and the secret obsession of Cooper St. James, her equally famous best-friend and frequent tour partner. He's been patiently waiting for the right time to make his move on Gloriana, and Matthew unwittingly hands him his chance on a silver platter. Things take a drastic turn when Matthew gets caught in his lies, Cooper makes his move, and Aston takes her game to the next level. A deceptively sinister partnership is the source of more than enough heartache and, eventually, the necessary occurs. Gayle Jackson-Sloan's LET THE NECESSARY OCCUR provides a realistic look inside what appears to be a strong, Christian-based marriage, but is really a marriage coming apart at the seams. Sloan expertly blends contemporary and semi-Christian fiction, and the result is a satisfying read. Her style is non-preachy with a little steam on the side; not every writer could pull that off as successfully as she has. Reviewed by T. Shelly B. of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

Have you heard the saying that 'The Devil is a Liar'? Believe it! This is a story about what can happen when you don't put God first. The devil in this instance came in the guise of one beautiful, sexy, devious Aston Montgomery. She came with a plan. A plan that was full of fraudulence and deceit. A plan to separate Gloriana, the beautiful talented gospel singer and Matt, her highly successful, sexy husband from their faith and each other. She is willing to claim him by any means necessary.
Kudos to Ms. Sloan, in this her latest literary endeavor, she has truly outdone herself this time. She has visibly evolved from her first exciting novel through her present day work. Her characters are all too realistic and believable. She makes her characters leap off the page while drawing you into their world. She takes you into that world of 'fabulosity', money and fame. Sinners and Saints. Of love and lust. She lets you know that being a Christian doesn't mean being boring. Nothing in this epic is black or white. The twists and turns will keep you in constant suspense. This refreshing new novel is guaranteed to keep you up all night. It will make you burn the candle at both ends while trying to figure out what's going to happen next. Don't pass up this great read. It's definitely no light weight. It can only be classified a summer read because of the season. Believe me... IT'S BIGGER THAN THAT! |
